I was a huge fan. I work the BNP Paribas ever year in Indian Wells. He wins and is always quick to give a humble "Thank you to everyone" I work 16 freakin hours on my feet all day, and I am the ONLY one to tell him to keep his head up after his loss to Almagro and he just flat out ignores me. It was just me-him- and his cart driver there. NObody else at all. Such a pre-madonna stuck up typical pro sports uppedity arrogant bitch!

Steve Fallano looks exactly like James Blake, except he has half the tennis ability and is 6 inches shorter than him

Blake is the stupidest player I've ever seen. Sure, he's got pretty strokes and all- but his court strategy is HORRIBLE! He's a mess! |

"I don't understand why people are so cruel! James does his job just
like and probably better than most of you. How many of you haters have
made millions doing what you like and getting to travel the world. He
also does alot for young tennis players as well, sponsoring clinics
and other events. I am sure you haven't even made thousands doing
something you hate! Try to see the good in others and stop the
ugliness!"Says a lot about your pathetic self that you feel the need to defend an athlete making millions. Leave the sports to the real fans please. Your logic is sadder than the insulters. Oh, and yeah Blake is no longer legit. Say hello to Chang status |

His game is so bad i cannot stand to watch him play. He is so fundamentally bad stroke-wise and strategically. always unbalanced, hitting off his back foot, flailing at the ball, always hitting low percentage power tennis shots no matter the situation, making little or no adjustments. I would guess he loses more to players ranked below him than anyone else in the top 30. |

Will USA ever get another tennis champion?I say after the Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray eras all end there may be an opening for a new star on the rise. Will he be American, only time will tell... (Most likely not though, without great American tennis players dominating the game regularly on TV as Agassi and Sampras did, less kids with great potential get interested in tennis from the US.) |

the deer in headlights look. today he played roger, and he was spraying balls all over the place, it was an embarrassment. roger didn't have to do anything at all but get the serve in. james did all the dirty work for him -- then he got frustrated at himself, which i don't understand, cause by now even he should be used to it. |

yeah, unfortunately, he sucks cause he won't alter his game to an opponent. to me he plays like a teen, he only has one gear, like youngsters have one idea in their head -- stubborn. i was excited about him cause i liked his style and when he is "on" he is on, but sadly, because of his high risk tennis, he is mostly off. he has no plan b. poor james, he should look at someone like Fish, who is working to get better and change playing style, even roddick is trying new things...

Foolishly I wasted my time this evening watching James Blakes play in the 3rd round of the Sony Ericsson Open. As I expected, he was consistent in losing. He just can't get it together when needed. He's just an above average player and probably will always be just that. Next time I will just read about him losing rather than wasting my time watching a player who just doesn't have any fight, and is content with mediocrity. CurtSFL

James Blake is thwarted not by his physical prowess but by his diminutive tennis strategy. The wearing of emotions on your sleave just wastes energy. No one cares about your point-by-point emotions. Save the facial expressions. Concentrate! Just play the game. This endless pouting hurts American tennis. |

james blake is just like marat safin in that the potential for greatness is there. these guys just tend to beat themselves. you've seen it -- the way blake talks to himself and pouts after lost points, shaking his head, beating himself up. you know when you see him do that, he's going to lose. safin is the same way. the frustration shows and they're not able to get past it. it's sad, because like the american media, i'd love to see blake win a slam for a change. it's not like he hasn't won tournaments before. he just can't dance when it's time for the big show. |

The truth about James Blake is that he is just a decent tennis player. Good enough to compete, but not good enough to win a grand slam. That's not a knock, but just the truth. He'll be competetive, but he's not good enough to win the big ones. Bud Collins said that a couple of years ago about him. Doesn't mean that he's not a nice guy. Just means that he's a decent but not superstar player. What separates the great ones from average players like Blake (and Roddick) is that you can't get caught playing 5 set matches in the early rounds of grand slams and expect to win it all. Federer and Nadal take care of business in those early rounds. 3 sets and done. Year after year and match after match, Blake starts out with those 5 setters against relatively unknown players. He'll never win a grand slam playing that way. Even though the american media is desperate for an american champion, Blake is not good enough and Roddick is not confident enough. Nothing personal, just the truth.
