Who says Andy Murray cannot be the best player ever, don't forget Roger did not win a grand slam until he was 21-21 years of age. Admittedly, Roger played well in the US final, but he did have an extra 24 hours rest, and similarly Andy had played a tough long match against Nadal. You will see in the next few years Andy winning a lot of Grand Slams. Watch this space! |

Andy will squash federer next season. Federer should accept he's reaching retirement age and getting too old to compete with better, younger players who are not afraid of him. He's not invincible like he thought he was. He could scare players before even taking to the court but not anymore. Andy has beaten him and he'll do it again and he has a better head-to-head. Andy has a better game than Fed. Fed's time is over, now young Andy, Del Potro and others including world no. 1 Rafa Nadal will all overtake him and keep squashing him and deflating his ego. Without his ego, he won't survive. Fed will retire soon when he realises he's finished in 2009! |

I have been a tennis fan for more than 40 years and watching Andy play is a thrill. Andy congratulations on your impressive win over Nadal. I think the U.S. Open is yours to lose against Federer. Andy is one of the smartest tennis players to play professional tennis; along with his incredible physical and emotional skills. Good luck Andy against Roger. Adam Baker. |

I'm extremely pleased. I'm a long time tennis fan (for all my 28 years). I despise everyone who bad mouthed Tiger Tim's efforts. So what? He didn't make a major final. He made number 4 in the world and I staunchly followed him. I am over the moon that that there is an alleged British (but truly Scottish) pretender to the throne... an added to that he has turned out to be the awe inspiring Andy Murray. He has lived up to his arrogant press conferences. He hasn't pretended to want anything more than he has deserved. Hard work pays off. Good for him. I am overawed. I've never blogged before but feel compelled to do so now. Well done Andy Murray. A final is a fantastic achievement. I am going off to laugh in my brothers (plural) faces at an inspiring achievement. Here's hoping he wins. But I've proven my my point to my brothers even if he doesn't! |
