If you're a fringe-level minor league hockey player looking to make a name for yourself, what do you do? That's right - you slap a flight attendant, head-butt a passenger and expose yourself on an American Airlines flight.

That's exactly what 27-year-old Florida Everblades hockey player David Cornacchia did on Dec. 27th, 2007 on a flight from Dallas to his home in Toronto. From the Associated Press:

According to court documents, the player became angry with a flight attendant after he was refused a third alcoholic drink. Cornacchia slapped the male flight attendant with an open hand.

Cornacchia began cursing at other passengers and exposed himself to them, according to an affidavit. Flight attendants and an assisting passenger then secured Cornacchia's hands behind his back with plastic restraints and belted him into a seat. Cornacchia head-butted the passenger who was helping restrain him.

Awesome.

Cornacchia has since been sentenced to a year and a day in prison and will be under supervised release for three years. He also has to attend substance abuse and anger management programs and pay a $4,000 fine. Just a reminder to you hockey playing youths out there - even if the airline attendant is pissing you off, you shouldn't slap him.
