Here's another amazing finish. In this case, the opposing player figures he can just throw the ball in the air and kill the time. Unfortunately, the player that caught the ball, Mo Peterson of the Toronto Raptors, has 1 second left and drains the 3-pointer.
OK, you are down by 3 points with a second or two on the clock. The problem? The other team has the ball. You need both a steal and a hail-mary prayer 3-pointer in a blink of the eye. Enter the Detroit Pistons Rasheed Wallace against against the Denver Nuggets on March 26th.
This is likely the worst made shot in NBA history. Ben Wallace almost missed the entire backboard. He's not known as a good shooter.
There's been some amazing game finishes this week in basketball. Anthony Atkinson's 10 points on 5 baskets in the last 40 seconds won his team, Barton College, the Division II basketball championship over Winona.
Nice compilation of the top 5 goalie fights; Felix Potvin, Patrick Roy and more.
I must say, the Ryan Smyth situation at the trading deadline was quite a shock. Rumour is that Smyth wanted $28.5 million and the team capped at $27 million. I think this pretty much means the following video has Oscar potential. Edmonton fans should boo this guy every time he comes to town. Unless, of course, they sign him this summer ;-)
