Im soo excited..the playoffs are in our reach...I pray to God we pull through..Too bad ill be missing the allstar game cuz i work that night so you guys gotta update on that...Katie~

Katie~, you were so right on your point that when hockey players swear, it's just part of the game. I'm a Christian, but when it comes to hockey, and if the refs make a bad call, you bet I'll swear at least once. During my games, I just get so into it, and you're not thinking about the words you choose. You just get mad, and words slip out- I just make sure the refs don't hear me. One time, a ref who had basically been picking on me all game- he called me on cross-checking when I'd just been muscling a girl off the puck- heard me swearing and he started yelling at me and he said "You're lucky I don't kick you outta the game!!! You hit that girl from behind!!!" which had nothing to do with his initial call. I guess he thought he was letting me off easy, even though he shouldn't have given me a penalty at all. Sometimes things get a little heated, but I think Crosby has matured a lot from last season.

Now, I know this is a "pro-Sidney" board, but I was interested in finding out what you guys think of Ovechkin? Personally, I prefer him to Crosby- skills and attitude wise- but what about you guys? I'm not asking you to compare, just asking for your opinions.~Hockeygirl4life~

Ovechkin..he's a great player and great talent, definately up there with Sidney. I also like to compare them to Gretzky and Lemieux..but for me I prefer Crosby mainly because Im from Pittsburgh and I see Crosby first hand from going to all the games, I sorta have more of an attachment to Crosby for that reason..and overall I like Crosby's style and attitude (minus the F bomb) on and off the ice. Off the ice Crosby (for 5months into 19) is extremely mature and well spoken...I love listening to his interviews and analysis on the game.

And your so lucky...I have always wanted to play girls hockey, but they dont really have that around Plum,(Pittsburgh),Pa...plus the girls around here would never play hockey..maybe i should move to Canada so I can play! The only game time I get is on my neighbors ice rink in their backyard(its sweet!)..or downstairs in the basement with my brothers.       Katie~

By the way, things are not looking good for our Pens staying in Pittsburgh...I'm alittle teary eyed right now, but Mario does not like Plan B and is looking toward Kansas City once again. The time is coming where a decision is going to be made fast. Im so scared...I dunno what Im gonna do if they leave..my heart will be ripped out if the Pittsburgh Penguins will never be the Pittsburgh Penguins ever again...I cant deal with this..its so heart breaking to me and the whole city..I wish there was something I could do..i would do anything...<3Katie~

Eastern Young Stars won 9-8 last night!!! Ryan Getzlaf was hilarious. These little kids were on the bench, and he goes over to one kid and is like "What're you doing here, you little brat?" It was so cute!!!

The press conference with Crosby and Ovechkin was too funny.  First some guy ask Crosby "how do you feel being the cat's meow"...and then Ovechkin doesnt know half the time what to say or not making sense..and literally ask Crosby to answer the questions for him. And the people asking the question had the stupidest questions...like..." do you think either of you can call yourselves the MVP of the NHL?"...what do they expect them to say..."oh ya Im the best and I know it, Im def. the MVP" ??....haha it was funny and awkward in a way for Crosby and Ovechkin. Sort of upset Easterns didnt win...

sidney is one of my favorite players. however, he is the worst interview because he answers with cliches and very generic answers..hard work, team effort,lack of focus, blah, blah. so when he is interviewed i change the channel, but i still love him as a player.

it is very true wiht the whole they answer their own question in their interview to the player. Crosby is quite good at interviews he knows just wut to say and wen to say it. sometimes he is vague but he can't get to personal which is good. they want a private life too

What a game!! I'm so proud of my Pens!!

Story time...So I drew a picture of Sidney Crosby and took a picture of it and sent it to Mario's house (cuz Im cool like that..lol), and I asked if Crosby could sign it...and before Crosby left for the All Star week he sent it back to me signed..and its so cool bc like it was in Mario Lemieux's house and he had to hand it to Sidney..it's just awesome thinking about it...but ya thats my story.   Katie~

No he didnt write me a letter back, he just signed it...but he wrote out my name and address on the envelope...which i think is cool! Im going to a game pretty soon (getting glass seats), and Im taking my artwork so he will know what I look like bc he already knows my name and where I live..lol..I'm so excited that Sidney Crosby saw my artwork of him, plus he knows my name...    Katie~

lmao crosby is intense. i heard crosby doesnt even look in the stands that often. so it would be lucky if he does actually see you . if he does its great for you though. hes coming ot montreal next week!! im so excited!!

Well I mean during the practice in the beginning before the game..I know during the game he never looks in the stands...Ive been to so many I know what side he goes on when they line up to practice slap shots..he comes right up to the glass..so Im gonna sit in that section.

wow...I haven't been here in a long while. First off I'd like to congratulate the Pens for showing their fans that they really are playoff material. What an awesome game last night. It sucks living in Canada sometimes as Pens games are rarely aired up here. It was a real treat to be able to finally catch one last night. Wow Fleury put on one helluva show. I’m glad Sidney Crosby is doing so well because I get really bummed out when people put him down. He’s an incredibly gifted player who’ll hopefully be around for many more years to come. I can not wait until he visits the ACC on Feb10th as I will be in attendance. The whole arena issue really breaks my heart. Even though I am not from Pittsburgh I know how awful it must feel not knowing the fate of your beloved hockey team. I really hope that the Pens remain in Pittsburgh where they belong or hockey as I know it will never be the same.

Crosby's in Montreal Today!!!!! I'm so excited i can't wait for the game!!...the fans here love him!! especially that the Montreal Canadians were his favorite team I'm sure its always special for him wheb he comes here!! Who knows maybe one day he'll play for the Canadians!!

Although my Leafs are #1 to me I've always been a Pens fan. I sencerely hope that the Pens make it to the playoffs this year because they all really deserve it. Whoot!! 4 more days until Sidney is in Toronto!!!

Never visit Duquense University in Pittsburgh when its -10 outside at 7am...haha not fun. But always nice to see the Mellon Arena across the street and think about how the Penguins are practicing at that time..getting ready for the game tonight!..ya baby..ill be there along with my whole family...
