Anyone know if he is still with Amarillo this year?  Everything I seem to find on him is dated.

Amen to that! Seems to have found something in his swing huh? Good job Van!

Curious to know if Van has been able to hook on with a team. He is a fantastic third baseman and with the proper coaching could have been a good player. Hope is able to give it one more try.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 09 Mar 2011 16:59:19 GMT

Van has one of the biggest hearts someone can have, I kno from recent experience, so all of you jealous of him that feel to talk badly , you need to go get a life.... He still has it in him to be the best ball player.. and i have faith in him that he will be back on top of his game this year.

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 13:44:17 GMT
How many of u wanted to get with him just cause he is a ball player???  U r talking crap about him but what about u???  My nephew is and has a wonderful heart.  Yes he makes horrible mistakes when it comes to women or girls

Van didn't get picked up by anyone.... But you probably have figured that out by now.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sun, 25 Jul 2010 23:01:16 GMT
Does anyone know if Van Pope got picked up by another team. He's probably the best third baseman I've ever seen. I think he let personal issues get in the way of baseball--hope to see him somewhere soon
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 04 Jun 2010 03:50:27 GMT
so he's a total dog huh? i guess i'm not the only one that feels that way either.  I got played to.

I agree. Van's number one enemy is himself......

I still think he's the best defensive player around and could stack up against anyone. Too bad swinging the bat means so much.....

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Thu, 06 May 2010 14:02:12 GMT

he is an old friend   he is the best i have ever seen    when he lets baseball be fun

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 09 Apr 2010 15:54:02 GMT

Van is nothing but a dog. Plain and simple. Anyone who talks to him for more than 2 minutes can tell that he is nothing but a cheater. Of course he will promise you this and promise you that. But its not true. So girls save yourself some heart ache and stay away from that one unless you like to cheat yourself.

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sun, 04 Apr 2010 22:53:35 GMT
dated Van for 2 years. nice southern boy from a sweet MS family, but total player!  found out he dated a friend of my friend the same time i was dating him...can't trust ball players at all!  He talked a big game about being together but I know he was hooking up with a girl in every city he went to since his cousin spilled the beans to me that he had a "hoe in different area codes."  needless to say, it didn't work out.  I wish him the best in his ball career but warn any little ladies out there not to think you are the "only one" for him.  He is a ball player...and a player.

Finally made it out, to the ballpark, for another game!  Pope wasn't playing, but he sat at the front of the duggout for the majority of the game, & our seats were just two rows back from such.  I was finally able to catch his attention, & yell out the question about him liking raisin-cream pies... Took him a minute to catch on... Not really sure if he ever "got" it, & realized who I was either... ???  lol ... ... At any rate, it made for a fun scene.  =)

Didn't get back from Florida in time to make a game, & they were out of town again, this past weekend.  :-(   Boo!  They were out on the road for so long last month, I didn't even consider that they were going to be again.  LOL  I had my game plans all set, this past Sat, & found out 3hrs ahead of (whats normally) gametime, that there was no game to go to.   Hahaha   =P     Oh well.

Yes & No.  I live in Alpharetta, but I spend a lot of time  in Lawrenceville, w/ my Aunt.  She owns a townhome that is w/in easy walking distance of the stadium.  Have walked to & from the games several times actually.

Have been a nanny, this summer, to my two nephews.  Now that their summer is about to be over, I am looking at moving into the new apartment complex that is between the stadium & my aunt's neighborhood.

I totally get the whole, limited conversation in a blog environment thang.  I do appreciate the conversation we have shared thus far, idol chit chat an' all.   ;-)   Honestly, when I originally posted that first blog, I didn't really expect any response (much less, a legitimate one).

So have you gotten your opportunity Maggie?

Z.

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 20 Jul 2009 02:03:08 GMT

I never played passed highschool. Your name is ironic because I dated a girl named Maggie. I'm positive that you aren't the same girl but it just took me by surprise because I don't know but two girls with that name and you are number two........ In any other situation I would tell you everything I could about Van and myself but there is no way that could be possible in this case. So I guess the idol chit chat will have to do. He does know about the blog by the way......

Anonymous (Sophomore) wrote on Sat, 18 Jul 2009 04:53:20 GMT

U can't just say that, then leave me hanging... Why's my name ironic for u?  Do u play baseball as well?

And, so u know, despite putting up the 1st post, this seemed to be the only way for me to find out if he was "taken".  Kept getting a different story from the employees at the stadium.  I'm not some psycho-chick...  Always thought he was good-looking... When I caught a glimpse of his personality, that day at the park, guess u could say it really grabbed my attention.  Enough so for me to put myself out here like this.  lol    Being a good friend of Pope's, I'm sure he is aware of this blog by now. (which I am totally okay with)  What can I say... I've never been very good at being discreet.  Oh well, thats just "Me".   =)~

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 18 Jul 2009 04:22:28 GMT
I'm just saying it's hard to believe people on these things. Your name is Maggie huh? That's a bit ironic for me, but anyway. Hope it will work between you and Pope. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
Anonymous (Sophomore) wrote on Fri, 17 Jul 2009 22:45:39 GMT

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 17 Jul 2009 04:39:56 GMT
btw... if u don't mind my asking... what is your relationship to Pope?  Understand if u don't wanna say, but I would luv to know.  =D
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Thu, 16 Jul 2009 19:46:35 GMT

lmao ...  Love it.  I'll give it a try.

I wouldn't exactly say that he knows who I am... I got his attention at a game one Sunday.  After a few, top of the inning, warm-up passes, he threw me the ball.  Then he was being all, super-cute w/ me... to the point where I had to tell him to concentrate on the game.  One of his teammates poked his head out & over the duggout, to see who Pope was flirting with...  After the game, I got Pope to autograph the ball for me, but he didn't offer up any conversation...

Still .. The best game I've attended. (and we lost)  lol

Thanks for the advise  ;-)

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Thu, 16 Jul 2009 07:16:40 GMT

If he's already flirting with you and knows who you are than you should have no problem. Ask him if he likes rasin cream filled pies. The ones Little Debbie makes. You may think that's odd but it will get his attention. Trust me.

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Thu, 16 Jul 2009 03:35:11 GMT
Nice.  =D    So he was flirting w/ me, that Sunday at the park.  (I go to the home games all the time.  Hate that they're out on the road for so long right now)  How do u think I should go about getting his attention, seriously?
