I am a Milan fan but.....Look at the statistics on Pirlo in the last few years and they are terrible. Very few assists, very few goals. If you watch Milan regularly as I do you will see that for the most part his play is entirely lacking in creativity. The VAST majority of his passes are accurate, but unfortunately they are also sideways or backwards. Even his free kicks have been pretty poor.  I feel that he does dictate the pace of Milan's play,  which has become very predicable & pedestrian. I wish he would drink some good Italian espresso or go home. I won't say he sucks,  maybe just getting too old. We won't even talk about his defense.

another game, Milan vs Juve.
Guess who played for Milan- Pirlo.
Guess how many goals Juve scored--- 4
Milan lost 4-2 to Juve.
I used to be a Milan fan and still try to watch most of Milan games.
However, come on Ancelotti, wake up!!!
Pirlo DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL.
And lets admit, Pirlo is no Berbatov. He does not have the dribbling technique nor the shot nor any of the other qualities that Berbatov has(ok Berbatov cannot pass as well (maybe))
PLUS (HUGE PLUS) Pirlo is not a striker, he cannot just stand in his deep-seated position like a by-standard. Milan needs to rely on Pirlo for movement and defensive play. He is too old and cannot run. Milan needs to drop Pirlo. The only way they can keep him is if everyone else runs like crazy, and does a great job defensively. Then, he could possibly give his passing flare at other's hardwork expense. Since the whole AC Milan team is old and defensively is not fluent, Pirlo should be dropped like a useless luxury. PIRLO does not help AC Milan at all, but makes it much-much worse.

In addition, defensively pirlo is practically an empty space.

ever since pirlo has been back milan has lost or drawn. In every game other team scored at least 2 goals.  (Dec 3, 2008)

Pirlo does not move at all after 30th minute and 70th minute

Other than giving good passes sometimes, Pirlo does not do anything else well.

His movement in general is pathetic.

There were sooooo many goals scored because of lack of movement on Pirlo's part
