Kermit, now a Hollywood star, returns to his childhood digs to recount a grand adventure from his years as a young tadpole with amphibious pals Goggles and Croaker. As narrator, Kermit takes viewers back in time to when the tadpole trio, on the brink of froghood, ventures outside the swamp to explore the world beyond. Danger awaits them when an eccentric pet owner nabs Goggles. Even worse, a sinister science teacher is on the hunt for frogs, dead or alive, to be used in class dissections. Kermit and Croaker come to the rescue with slapstick heroics and beloved Muppet humor. While it's hard to top The Muppet Movie for its irresistible charm (and celebrity cast), there is plenty to enjoy here, notably the seamless interactions between Muppets and humans, and the lively soundtrack, which includes Paul Williams's 1979 Oscar-nominated "Rainbow Connection." And don't miss the film's hilarious outtakes, a delicious dividend for teen and adult viewers. --Lynn Gibson
