The LPGA, in full the Ladies Professional Golf Association, is an American organization for female professional golfers also known. The organization, whose headquarters are in Daytona Beach, Florida, is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world that runs from February to December each year. The LPGA logo is a registered trademark and cannot be used on promotional products or decorated apparel (embroidered shirts, polo shirts, t-shirts,  sweatshirts, hoodies or hats, etc.) without permission from the organization. Other "LPGA"s exist in other countries, each with a geographical designation in its name, but the U.S. organization is the largest and best known. The LPGA is also an organization for female club and teaching professionals. This is different from the PGA Tour, which runs the main professional tours in the U.S. and, since 1968, has been independent of the club and teaching professionals' organization, the PGA of America.

Hi Beth,
I have a golf story about your awesome dad I would like to share with you.  I grew up in the same town in Illinois.  Your dad was the quarterback of the high school football team which my older brother was the halfback.  I was 6 years younger than your dad, but a close friend of mine and I spent many days at the 9-hole golf course with your dad, lining up his putts and watching his great game.  We witnessed two (2) of his hole in ones on #3 and #9.  It was so cool!  He helped me with my game and I actually worked as a PGA Professional in the golf industry for a number of years.  I still teach part-time here in California.  If you would like me to elaborate on my time with your dad email me at jlimel@comcast.net. I have two sons, one of which played college golf, and my younger son is a competitive high school player right now.  Take care, Jerry
