Reply-to:I think that Girardi took AJ out too soon at his last game.  It was the top of the fifth 5-3 with Yankees winning.Minnesota was losing 5-0 and they kept there pitcher in.Even though AJ has not been doing well - he was pitching pretty well and I think he would have come out of that inning with the three runs.....He should have finished the fifth .All the pitchers in the last games even CC gave up home runs.  He needs some confidence - taking him out right away will not solve the problem.  It bothers me how all the comments speak so badly about someone.  Grow-up people

If he didn't suck so much maybe people wouldn't say these things!

I think AJ Burnett is starting to come through.  He had a rough summer but will come through for the Yankees.  As far as some of his out-bursts - I just feel he was totally humiliated  and even though it was wrong of him you just feel for him.  I would feel bad for any pitcher under the same circumstances.  I noticed over the summer as a die hard yankee fan that the Yankees have to back him up more just like they do CC....Keep it up AJ u will help the Yankees succeed for another TITLE.....Joyce

Well I guess we lose tonight ... he is on the mound. Hope that he will at least wash for the game. So.. dirty looking with all the scribbles on him. NOT OF YANKEE class caliber. Why the hell do they keep him? Giradi maybe should go too. He doesn't have the guts to sit him down. I wouldn't allow that crap from my players even if it meant being the worst team in the league. How is this garbage still in the majors. Does he have pictures of Girardi or Hank?? How can everyone see this clown can pitch??

Reply-to:I think A.J. owes us Yankee fans a 9 inning 2-Hit shutout tonight in Boston.. I think we deserve at least one decent game in two years...

I'm not counting on it. 1-0 Yankees lead in the 3rd. I'm holding my breath waiting for the typical AJ implosion.

I would honestly rather watch the Nationals Braves game tonight than watch the Yankees get blown out again.

If AJ were any bigger a stiff than he already is he'd have to change his name to Ron Jeremy Jr...

... and don't start me on just how much he sucks.

Forget Lindsay Lohan for the remake of Deep Throat. Look no further than Ms. Burnett... or as I like to call him "AJ Burnedyet".

Of course, I love seeing the Spankees give away every fifth game so it does all even out for us Jays fans.

Cheers,

Too bad Girardi can't say it like it is when being interviews after Burnett has pitches.  I think his hands are tied.  It's probably in Burnetts contract that eveyone has to be nice to him no matter how badly he's played.

Reply-to:Its obvious that Cashman and Steinbrenner got screwed with Burnett and his $85 million dollar contract.  They should bench him for the remainder of his contract, then cut him loose.  Nobody else wants him, contrary to what Cashman believes.  I think Burnett would make a great greeter at his
local WalMart store.

He's a head case, and not a team player at all.

Hey Sox fans consider this.. You supposedly have the best pitching staff in the majors.. the yankees have 1 ace, 2 has -beens and 2 totally incompetent pitchers.. yet you only have a 2 game lead on us?? if the yankees had your pitching staff we would have a 20 game lead by now.. Dont choke in the playoffs, the pressure is all on your Redsox!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 27 Aug 2011 06:01:36 GMT reply
One thing to all the red sox fans, yes you're in firt but it's because you have 2 more wins in 2 more games played, meaning asong as we win our games we are fine. And yea, we've sucked against you, despite that though we still manage to be tied with you, making us 8 games better than you against the rest of the league, despite a pitcher like Burnett who can't win shit. But on topic, when is Joe gonna take him out of the rotation? I knowable is making big bucks but COME ON, he is terrible!!! Hes the Yankees version of Oliver Perez

It's hard to root for AJ when he blames his consistently atrocious performances on the umpires, his catchers, his manager and his fielders. Girardi's excuses are growing more and more ludicrous: "he threw some good pitches tonight!"
Yeah Joe, except for the two homers, five doubles, a triple, three walks and three wild pitches. Without Martin behind the plate. he'd have had three more WPs. When will this nightmare end?
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 27 Aug 2011 03:35:57 GMT reply

why would a class organization like the ny yankees want such a pathetic human being like aj burnett on their team? there is no f-ing way he can be considered as a major league pitcher.

World Series Titles, Yankees 27, Red Sux 7.

Hey Yankee fan: Wakefield's a lot closer to his
200th win than Burnett will ever get. By the way,
who's in first and what's your record vs. us this year.

MESSAGE TO YANKS: PLEASE KEEP AJ IN
THE ROTATION. WE LOVE IT IN BEANTOWN!

Girardi and Cashman both need their heads examined for having this poor excuse for a pitcher, aj burnett, pitch for the Yanks.  They must be shooting for the wild card slot with this strategy.  Please find a way,any way, to terminate his contract.

Hey Red Sux Fan...how's Wakefield looking?  He won that 200th yet?
