I was another fan who really believed that Albert Pujols would break the mold of greedy players blessed with the ability to play a kids game for a hell of a lot of money. Like all knowledgable Cardinal fans, I remember when Albert first came up with the redbirds and had plate discipline like none other. He was so humble, but with consecutive years of greatness Albert started getting the "Superstar Big-Head." My dad would always point that out to me, and I would always ignore it because of the hall of fame numbers that El Hombre kept putting up. I have never seen such a great right handed hitter in my life, and I myself have played a lot of baseball even at the college level. I thought there would be no way in hell that Albert Pujols would leave such a great baseball town, in fact the best baseball city in America. With that being said, after viewing his 60 minutes interview, I knew right then and there that the Cardinals were not in Pujols' cards. True christians do not hold grudges, and Albert Pujols holds grudges. He openly admitted the grudge when he was selected in the 13th round of the MLB baseball draft. He was not happy with the Cardinals top brass when they refused to talk to him about the A-Roid money that he was demanding. This was just after the Cardinals chose to keep their promise to him by staying competitive by offering Matt Holliday his big pay-day. After refusing to talk to Pujols, this is where the grudge started and where it stayed. He stated he wanted to remain a Cardinal for life, but he was after the money he thought he was entitled to. He wanted to remain a Cardinal for life, but for all the wrong reasons, which we all found out to be the money. What a waste, its like he never played here for me. I could care less what records he breaks moving forward. He was a has been, never will be when speaking of the truly great players this "talented rich" organization has honored. Just a shame that is all I can really say

Albert really made a big mistake not retiring as a Cardinal.  The Angels fans will not give him any respect when his abilities slide (and they will).  They will expect him to put up numbers like he did when he was with the birds.  He really put himself in a bad position.  The Cardinal fans would have loved and honored him forever as the best Cardinal of all time.  But, that is not to be now.  Albert  has hurt himself in the long run.

God Bless you Albert, thanks for all the memories! I wish my boys would be able to grow up watching you play for the Redbirds. I cannot believe you left, but I honestly feel sorry for you as I believe it'll be the biggest mistake of your career, something you'll deeply regret someday. I hope I am not correct for your sake. I hope you heard from the Lord and made the right decision, that's what I truly hope for you. God Bless.

The Cardinals got more production from Pujols than the Angels ever will while only paying him something like a total of $114 million.  Kudos to Cardinals ownership for sucking him dry and winning 3 pennants and 2 world series and then not wasting any more money on him while he slides down the tubes.  Bill DeWitt (Cards owner) is a true business genius.

Right. They won the Champiomship without a significant contribution from Pujols. He had one game when he actually hit the ball. He sucks as a person.

Albert's worst nightmare was that they would win the WS the way they did.  He had the 'I wanted to play for a competitive team' card in the back pocket on his fat ass.  So he doesn't have any excuses and doesn't care that the public knows now that it in fact was all about the $$$$$$

I remember his constantly (during Spring Training) driving out of the gate of the stadium without stopping laughing at the kids wanting his autograph while most other players stopped and rolled down their windows, or Brendan Ryan after games not leaving the 1st base line until every kid had an autograph. This is the true side of him, not the charity crap he does that he can put on TV with the undertone of "how great I am." It is what the players do when the press or large members or the public aren't watching that shows he they truly are.

It wasn't a trade. He gave up legend status when he said he would take less to be a lifetime cardinal. Moreno kissed his ass for 39 minutes on the phone and that way enough to sway the shallow, lying, egomaniac asshole to leave. Screw him. I'm sure he realizes he f'd up for a wick buck. How much can a guy spend anyway? I knew he was a self centered prick but I wanted to believe. He was a great player who has had three consecutive years in decline. Hopefully he tanks in LA. I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire. His wife needs to shut the eff up.

It's not about the money, you lying ass, it's always about the money. You are apart of the reason why most fans can not afford tickets to see a game live. When is enough, enough? All the money in the world and the fans do not matter, you want more. Good luck in hell!!!

Thanks to Cardinals management for not being stupid enough to give Pujols that kind of money.  They don't even really know how old he is. He's just another arrogant prick like most of the sports stars. Stan Musial "IS" and always will be "The Man".

Pujols is worse than Lebron. Lebron was a kid with his first chance to leave. Pujols has 2 rings, a family, and 10 years with a storied franchise. Pujols is an idiot. He is a liar. He is a shitbag.
