his on base % is 2nd worst in mlb this year. his batting avg. is 3rd worst.

"He's a five tool player" is all I kept hearing about this handsome guy in the outfield that would drop routine fly balls and strike out alot. As a Bluejay fan I had no idea what that meant until a Whitesox fan told me that it meant he plays with his tool 5 times a day.

I'd be interested to see this guy's stats since August 1, 2010. He is truly awful at the plate, particularly with men on base. I'd guess he's hit under .200 with a man on 2nd since that date. He looks lazy, and has to have the worst batting stance in baseball. Quickly played his way out of the number 3 spot this year, and adds nothing to the team.

Rios makes being a bum cool. Rios holds the major league record being the only player to strike out 5 times in a 9 inning game twice in their career. What an amazing accomplishment!
Even the great Rob Deer could only manage to do that once in his career. It is so hard to do cause you have to suck badly but at the same you need the players on your team to play good so you can get your 5 plate appearances. Rios also holds Blue Jay records striking out 7 straight times. Rios is also hoping to set Whitesox records as his great career continues with the security knowing his contract is locked in for many years to come.

Rios never gets his hands into a decent launch position. How can a player hope to hit MLB pitching with his hands held down at the waist? This guy is very athletic but his coaches don't coach him and yet they persist in batting him 3rd despite no consistent production.

I was so glad when the Jays were able to get rid of this waste of space. All we kept hearing about was his "potential". The only problem is he has no heart or brains to go with his so called potential. Watching him run the bases was enough to make me vomit - cost the Jays more than a fews runs with his bone headed running. The Rios pickup will haunt Chicago's GM for the next 3 (4?) years.

Rios & Dye both suck. Dye hopefully in his last days as a Chisox. Those two are reasons I don't believe in guaranteed contracts.Incentives should go into contracts..if you produce you get your full salary. If that was the case Rios would make more flipping burgers at Mickey D's,cause he is a disgrace making huge money for batting way below Mendoza line. Dye had his moments especially in 05 WS ,but its clear his best days are long gone. He never actually was a great clutch hitter even in his best days..something like a .250 hitter in clutch situations life time. Hope somehow Sox can get out of Rios contract..
