Hello! I am happy that your back playing baseball with the Red Sox! I am also happy that I will be able to see you play baseball live with my own eyes. I will also do my best job selling 50/50 raffle tickets this coming 2010 baseball season. Selling 50/50 raffle tickets at Fenway Park is a lot more difficult than selling 50/50 raffle tickets at Mckeon Park. The Hyannis Mets baseball players get it easy selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Glad you are still here for the 2010 season even tho you will be the back up catcher now. It'll prolly be your last year as a red sox player but hopefully after that you will be some sort of coach for the red sox! |

He can't hit, he can't throw, strike 3's go through his legs, he can't run, worst catcher in baseball at this point. I hate watching him play. When talking heads talk on and say "but he calls such a good game" it makes me want to hurl. It's time to get a look at the other catchers in the organization...they can't possibly be worse than tek. Totally sucks |

varitek stinks at the plate and they should put someone else in there. he should go shave his beard and put his haircut in for the "most looks like a honey badger" award in the deep south. notice he did not take his head gear off before starting a fight with a-rod. he is a whimo as well. |

very stupid to hear the story of Varitek not wanting to wear the jersey that MLB wanted him to wear. MLB decided that he was in the all star game, they wanted him to wear a jersey without the letter C on it being it isnt the captain of the AL team. |

Actually, you're the idiot. Francona didn't put Varitek on the All Star Team, the players did. He was voted in by them. It helps to actually know what you're talking about before you write something down. |
So what...He's had a bad offensive season but look at other players.. Are we gonna get rid of Papi cause he couldn't hit??? All he does is consume money and either strike out or ground out. At least varitek makes a difference. Varitek it the Captain, and the Heart of the red sox nation. You take him out of the picture the sox will suffer. Almost the entire team said they would be sad and would miss him. You cant just take him out of Boston. He's a beloved member of the Red Sox.
SO i say.. Sign him for a couple more years. Ya hes getting old but he'll know when to call it quits.
