No, Pap is under red sox control through the 2011 season and he's one of the best closers, no matter what anyone says, so they will hopefully keep him after that or he will test free agency. Rivera will be the yankees closer for awhile and who wants to go play for the yankees anyway? They're a bunch of morons! |

I wouldn't mind Papelbon if he wasn't so arrogant and pompous. Day after day you see quotes of him saying that he's going to be the greatest closer ever, surpassing Rivera. Please Papelbon, you are not in Rivera's league, no one is in Rivera's league. Get used to it. Hopefully his blown save in the playoffs this year humbled him. |

I would like to thank you for making baseball an enjoyable game to watch. I became interested in baseball when they showed a close-up of you pitching 3yrs ago. I couldn't believe the intensity and focus you displayed on the mound. I knew then you were committed to your game and team. Since then I followed the Red Sox and began to look forward to the games. It's true what they say about some fans when they say "THEY lost" or WE won. The majority of us don't feel that way. We all lose and we all win. Thank you for the ride this year, and next year the Red Sox will come back stronger . Watch out Yankees. |

The problem with you papelbon is your pitch selection. You were great coming up a couple years ago, but every year you get shakier and shakier and its because your fastball keeps declining and declining. GET A NEW PITCH MY GOODNESS, I could see if Bard only threw fastballs cuz he throws 102. Great one pap...let the who angel team sit on your fastball....Bard closer in 2011 hopefully. |

Jonathon CRAPELBON has been nothing but trash this whole season the fastest he can muster up a fastball has been 94, he can't locate a pitch to save his life, and doesn't even throw the splitter anymore. It's embarrassing that starting pitchers can mix in a 97 or occasional 98 deep in the game and papelbon cant even pull it off for three outs. Waste of money |

7-4, bottom of the ninth inning, and Papelbon gives up three runs. The Red Sox lose in 11 (I assume - they just gave up the losing run and I turned it off). I'm so tired of this crap. I don't care if the guy has a low ERA, he has sucked all year, and here it is, biting us in the ass. We could have picked up a friggin' game on the Yankees, but instead it's Collapse City USA, population: the Red Sox, and we remain 2 and a half back. I know Francona is a tolerant guy and all, but this needs to end. Pap has been extremely lucky all season, but that luck has clearly run out. I know if I'm a manager and my 'star' closer gives up three runs in the ninth to blow a save at ANY point after June, I'm benching him on principle. He's paid to do one jobe - ONE FREAKING JOB - and he can't even do that. It's time for Papelbon to experience the Paw Sox. |

Papelbon is another athlete that is full of himself. The only baseball player who is more stuck up than him is the Ichiro. When he wins a save he starts pumping his fist and looks like an idiot when he does it. Every time I see him blow a save I laugh because he gets so pissed off. The funny thing is that he got on the radio and said he wants to be a Yankee when his contract is up with Boston. He's an idiot who goofs off too much and is another over paid Boston bitch. |
