I say this with all objectivity. Jorge Posada is the worst defensive catcher in major league baseball history. Usually the smartest player on he team, catchers have a major responsibility to help he pitching staff get outs, constantly out-thinking the opposing batters. This is the reason why so few catchers are good offensive players. In addition to the physical toll catching puts on the body, the time and preparation it takes to properly handle a pitching staff usually outweighs the amount of time a catcher can be in the cages practicing hitting. Well, Posada was the exact opposite of everything I just mentioned. He wasn't just the most unintelligent catcher in the league, he was he most unintelligent player. He literally still does not know some of the most basic rules of the game. In addition, he neve worked well with a single starting pitcher. He would consistantly argue with pitchers. He was a total cancer in the locker room. Lastly, he literally had trouble catching and framing the baseball, something any high school catcher can do. I understand he was a great offensive player, but his lack of defense clearly outweighed his offense skills. P.S. Posada also routinely argued balls and strikes while batting. This is another unwritten rule that a catcher should never, under any circumstances do. Posada was the dumbest, most selfish player of my generation. -Nugemoney

Jorge you were one of the best catchers wearing the famed NY pinstripes. Your clutch performances made us all proud of you. You were not only a great teammate but an overall great guy!!!...YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!...THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES JORGE!!!

Posada pinchhits, gets a big cheer.  Yankee home fans obviously suck as well.  Girardi obviously lacks the stones to flush this no-load while he has a good chance.  Posada will just stay put and collect his check, while serving as a cancer inside the clubhouse.

Posada is by far the most overrated unclutch yankee of all time. They say he is part of teh core 4. Lets be honest! Jeter=Future HOFer, MO= future HOFer, Petitte= super clutch pitcher in playoffs and then there is Posada a career  .240 hitter in the Playoffs and he gets worse the deepper they go. .270 in Division, .224 in ALCS then .219 in WS. Mind you he has 400 ABS in teh playoffs. the guy cant field, Cant Run, No Arm. All he is good for is a Solo home run in meaningless games. Yah he might of had one good hit here and there in his career but every squirrel finds a nut. The guy had the luxury of being in an all star lineup and with all star pitchers every year of his career.  I cant wait till he retires. Mattingly deserves his rings more thna he does. BUM

It's not just posada it's all those older yankees and scrub add ons. Jeter, Posada, AJ, Vazquez. They all continue to pull this team into old age/patheticness with them. Them and the teams batting coach need to be put out to pasture. As I write this Posada just struck out golfing at balls on the ground in the 7th of game 4. Girardi can go f himself too

Posada is the worse catcher in the history of baseball.I have despised this dude since the beginning..No defense,rubber arm having asshole who consistently shows up his pitchers(Joba anyone?) It can't be a coincidence that Mussina,Randy Johnson,A.J, and a bunch of other pitchers refuse to work with this dude..remember Torre went with Girardi,Leyritz and everyone else before Posada cause he didn't trust him either..It's only his bat that keeps him in the lineup (oh and sucking off Jeet every chance he gets).He couldn't call a good game at gunpoint,can't block pitches in the dirt and how many passed balls has he allowed with this aggravating nonchalance..this is the same idiot who threw to second with two outs cause Hamilton was stealing and allowed Andrus to score.The same moron who lobs pitches back to pitchers not named Petitte and Rivera with disdain.This series with Texas has been horrible because Posada has caught every game..He needs to be the DH and keep his mouth shut...

Consistently low baseball IQ, it amazes he how much respect he gets behind the plate. His arm has eroded, pitchers do not like how he calls a game and he makes stupi mistakes that show zero focus. He is a DH at best.

Game 2, Top of the 2nd:  Jorge Posada 1, Yankees 0.  The Rangers manufactured a run totally out of Posada's rubber band arm and braindead defense while Hughes struck out the side.

Cost the team another ballgame tonight because the pos can't block a pitch.  Can't get a hit off any decent pitcher if his life depended on it.  Let him go to where 240 hitters go to die.
I would like to thank this loser for teaching my son that it's ok to lie and cheat your way to a win.

He is by far the worst Yankee catcher I have ever seen. The disrespect he shows all the pitchers except Rivera and Pettite. Watch him throw the ball back to the pitchers. Bullets to Mo lobs to everyone else. He can not throw out a runner. There is reason certain pitchers do not want to pitch to him. Let him go already it is too painful to watch.

I am a yankees fan, and this guy is the most overtated player in yankees history. He has a .239 lifetime postseason average, against number 1 and 2 starters, he hits .096, he only hits garbage pitchers, every hall of fame pitcher we've ever had has demanded him not catch...he cant call a game, cant catch, cant throw, and definitely cant block home plate and tag runners. Mechanics are crap.
