Red sox are abesolutely  NOT THE BEST if that Spencer Pratt-looking  a**hole continues to blow Beckett's chances of gaining the win like he did during last night's game. Man, Papelbon sucks big hairy ones!

Beckett is a petulant, overweight peckerhead who needs to get drilled in the piehole with a line drive.  F. him and his Red Sux homies.

Children's Hospital Names Room After Beckett

BOSTON (WBZ) ―
It's official.

There is now a Josh Beckett Cancer Treatment Room at Children's Hospital Boston.

Beckett cut the ribbon in a ceremony Wednesday morning and unveiled a room specially designed with a Red Sox-themed mural that features the Red Sox ace.

"It kinda blows you away a little bit because you realize what's gonna happen in that room," he told reporters.

Beckett said having a room at the hospital in his name is bittersweet.

"It's great," he added, "I hope it never gets used."

Kids will get cancer treatments there alongside some digital drawings of his famous teammates.

Mike Lowell, David Ortiz, Dice-K and Kevin Youkilis are all on the mural.

It was designed and hand-drawn by Sara Morton.

"My general inspiration was to show the energy and strength the Red Sox bring to the game so that that strength and energy can be shared with the children as they endure their treatment," she said.

9-year-old Isabella Shaw is battling leukemia, which is now is remission.

She says the room is a perfect distraction for cancer patients.

"They won't really know what's going on if they're looking around," she said.

Beckett donated $100,000 to the hospital - all raised through his annual "Beckett Bowl" bowling tournament.

He's also pledged to donate $100 to Children's for each strikeout he has this season.

They're off to a good start.

Beckett had 10 k's in the Red Sox Opening Day win Tuesday.

That's nice.  But what keeps getting forgotten around here is it has to be proven that the person "defaming" someone KNOWS that's what they are doing.  As long as that person "believes" they are writing the truth, it won't be prosecuted.

And, really, anyone who comes on  this forum and gets offended because people are gossiping on a message board dedicated to gossip,well they can't be too bright.

Can a Blog Be Sued for Defamation; Isn't It All Free Speech?
This is a knotty issue, but a short answer would be, generally, that a blog owner whose blog has published obnoxious materials can be held harmless while a blogger using the site can be liable. The Communications Decency Act of 1996 is a protector of blog owners. It states, in section 230, that it "precludes courts from entertaining claims that would place a computer service provider in a publisher's role." As to how the court sees blogs, in general, overall, the US Supreme Court has ruled that blogs are similar to news groups, saying "in the context of defamation law, the rights of the institutional media are no greater and no less than those enjoyed by other individuals and organizations engaged in the same activities."

1. A false and defamatory statement regarding another;
2. Unprivileged publication of the claim to a third party;
3. Rising, in the case of matters of public concern, to at least negligence by the publisher, or worse; and
4. Damages to the subject.
