He's still good defensively. Up until a couple years ago he was one of the best defensive 3rd basemen in the league. The problem is of course his bat. He used to hit around 20 home runs a year but now he has no power. Add that to his mediocre battle average and you have a terrible offensive player. He also never walks, which is a huge problem; he has a career OBP of under .300. His days of a productive player, other than maybe a late game defensive replacement, are pretty much over.

Truly the unsung hero of the 2009 Phillies season. Solid at the plate with superior defensive play.

This man deserve much more credit than he gets.

Based on his well roundedness, he is surely one of the top 5 3rd basemen in all of MLB.

He does suck. Takes too many pitches. Can't hit the curve.
And doesn't come threw in key situations.
