Money well spent - $8 million

The Red Sox agreed to terms on Tuesday with outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, avoiding salary arbitration. It is worth $8.05 million.

Ellsbury, 28, was named the American League Comeback Player of the Year and finished second in AL MVP voting after a breakout season. He hit .321 and set career highs with 46 doubles, 32 home runs, 119 runs, 105 RBIs and 52 walks in 158 games. He led the majors with 364 total bases and 83 extra-base hits.

Selected by the Red Sox in the 2005 first round, Ellsbury has a .301 career average, and made the All-Star team last season.

Jacoby is on twitter. He follows Nike, a sport psychology thing, Kelsey, and his three brothers. And that's it. Following six. He does make tweets periodically. It looks like he loves playing for the Red Sox.

Reply-to:yeah i read that too. and in another article, there was something about how his mom let the word slip about him and kelsey breaking up. way to go mommy.haha lol. well put. and i heard a while ago like back in july that they broke up. ever since she stopped going to games things went downhill, but he has been seen once with a short haired girl who was proved not to be kelsey because a pic of her was taken at the same time and her hair was long. she was not with jacoby in the pic either maybe hes single...

the last time you posted this comment was October 30. every two months approximately, you come on and post this same exact comment. i can't help it. i find it downright hilarious. it's like being at an ice cream stand and all they sell is vanilla ice cream.
