Whoever gets him will have to pay $20 million over the next 2 years, $32.5 million if they keep him for the optioned 3rd.

It's going to have to be a big-market team, like LA, NY, or BOS. Little teams won't have a chance as the Rays don't have enough cash to take on some of the salary. He should be back with the team just in time for the FL series. He better work on his bat, too.

So true

Kaz could bring the Rays frontline players and prospects. Guaranteed there are at least 20 teams that would jump at the chance to trade for him.

The Bradenton Herald said not to expect him back until after the All-Star break, which will be around the end of July.

He is staying on the 15-day, but they are going to keep him out until he completely reworks his delivery to correct what sent him to the dl in the first place.

Its kind of what the Yankees situation with Wang. His confidence was just shot. Wang suppose to be back & seems to be doing well.  Maybe the Rays will take the Yankees route & send KAz to AAA to figure things out for awhile until he gets back to himself because he cant keep doing this. As much as I like him he's only hurting the team

He really needs a new pitching coach to get his head straight. Hickey is a good coach for certain players, but Kaz needs to move on as he's not improving at all under him. He's gotten worse. Remember when he would strike 10-12 hitters a game and hit 93-94mph? He's lucky now to fan 4 and hit 89 on the guns. I love Tampa, but for your sake, Scott, you need a new team to start over.

Hey if the Rays don't want/can't afford him come on over to the Yankees Kaz. We can fit you somewhere in our rotation. Odds are Andy won't be here much longer

I believe Kazmir will be here. The only way I could see them trading him is if they got someone better in return. I'm not saying it isn't possible because everyone can be traded but, if they wanted to extend him that says they're committed to him.

And this is no knock to Kazmir, but he could easily be replaced by David Price or Wade Davis for just a fraction of the price. Both should be up by years' end, and they still have Talbot in the wings. No way Stu is going to pay $8 million next year to a 4-5 starter.

Crawford will eventually be replaced by Perez, with Joyce taking over RF.

The Rays are not stupid and they have their plans in work. They are stacked beyond belief.

@ the last 2 comments. If you knew anything about Rays baseball, then you would know that he was part of a deal for Matt Holliday last winter that fell through. Don't tell me he isn't going anywhere. There is no way the Rays can afford to take on his $20 million due to him over the next 2 seasons plus Crawfords' bump as well. The $60 million they are at right now is already more than what Sternberg can afford. He was hoping for a raise in attendance, but that is not happening.

If any of you want more information on details, read up on DRays Bay's 5/12 post.

"Whats up with the "Kazmir being traded" gossip?
Does he want to be traded? He doesnt sound happy. "

I didn't hear any rumors about Kaz being traded until you brought it up. He's not happy because he's in a slump right now. He improved his last time around but, still isn't there yet. I don't see them trading him. That'd be a stupid move unless they got someone for a good deal.

It's no secret the team can't afford his salary after this season. Crawford is due a big bump, too. And they have at least 5 people who are coming up for bumps. No one goes to their games, slow revenue. Do the math.

Not defending him, but what do you expect with professional athletes in ANY sport?

Any girl who is dumb enough to date them or a any "celebrity" deserves what they get.

He was flirting with some girl in a purple shirt, short brown hair, a little cute but nothing special, at their workouts the other day. She had a lanyard pass, so maybe she just works there?

btw he just started doing whatever he does with the asian bartender during the week before superbowl.  this is a casual thing.  he's single and he dates.  not exactly a big deal.  not sure why there's so much denial about it.
