he should become a contract killer because he is quite proficient at hitting people in the head and making it look like an accident

Reply-to:you all obviously know nothing about the sox because he was our best reliever by far last season and thank god pap is gone ..what a jamoke

Paps was one of the best closers in the game this past year if not the best.

He played seven fewer games than Bard and 9 fewer innings and he beat Bard in every category. Just to illustrate - Papelbon - 2.94 ERA and 87 strikeouts. Bard - 3.33 and only 74 strikeouts.

So Bard had a higher ERA and fewer strikeouts and yet played in more games and had more IPs.

Papelbon has been an all star four times and has had three seasons with 30 saves. I think he has the most saves for the team in Red Sox history.

Not sure what rule of thumb you are using to say Bard is the better reliever by far. In general, Red Sox fans are horrified that Papelbon left us for the Phillies.

In 9 days, Bard's ERA has gone from 2.10 to 3.10.

I hate this guy!  We are doomed if we have to rely on him.  He sucks!!!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 20:43:14 GMT

This guy is just awful.  How many games has he lost for us in the last 3 weeks alone??? Give me a friggin break!

The Sox better re-sign Papelbon for next year if they want a closer.  Bard clearly cannot rise to the occassion.

Daniel Bard SUCKS!!!!

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 20:13:16 GMT

yay! he got a .194 hitter out!!!

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 20:11:38 GMT
Is this guy just terrible. game in hand...walk, walk, error, hit, hit, why does he get to stay in the game and single handedly lose it?
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 20:11:32 GMT
another blown lead, frickin terrible, am i the only one who realizes he is worthless
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 24 May 2011 03:02:21 GMT
Ya we get it. Everyone gets it. He throws it fast. Maybe if he had some movement he'd get somebody out. You can't throw up top with a straight pitch. Hitters can see it too well. Nobody is surprised by the heat anymore, everyone knows it's coming. Time to get someone in there that can actually pitch.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 24 May 2011 02:53:58 GMT
if all you can do is throw it straight then a pro will catch up to it.  he straight out sucks.  better learn another pitch cause straight and hard isn't working
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 24 May 2011 02:47:21 GMT
He is awful has blown 4 big games for Red Sox, I mean but another freakin reliever in there!!

Why does Adair Sturdivant sound so familiar? (other than the fact that she is married to Daniel)
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 02 May 2011 04:53:22 GMT
Daniel has himself a very pretty girl. I heard they met through a mutual friend. Is that correct?
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Thu, 28 Apr 2011 18:10:09 GMT
3 losses in 11.1 innings pitched. Are you kidding me?

Bard is better than Papelbon. Remember that Bard is young, and still developing, yet he still is a better closer than Paps. Ozzy Guillien said so.

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 30 Jun 2010 05:38:32 GMT
wow some of you need to post comments with a little more context included?  He won't end up like Zumaya, you know, with 100 mph heat going with one of the sicker sliders I've ever seen.  YOU guys try hitting that stuff.

I'm assuming that Daniel Bard is married by now, then.  Does anybody know anything about his wedding?  How did it go?
