In the book, Damon describes his first wife, Angie Vannice, as an overbearing nuisance who cramped his style and prevented him from having fun and living his life. However, Vannice disputed that account and accused Damon of being more interested in partying than taking care of his family.

“I think it’s absolutely absurd that he would come out and say those things,” said Vannice. “He’s actually bragging about cheating on me while I was sitting at home with the kids. And that story about the nurse at the hospital? That’s typical Johnny. He started having sex with her on the bed next to me while I was in labor. As you can imagine, I was pissed. I knew Johnny loved women, but he had never taken his obsession this far. This was the nurse that was delivering my baby, for God’s sake. Not only that, she was about 70 years old. I guess he didn’t put that in the book.”

Still, Damon refuses to apologize for his actions. Right or wrong, the self proclaimed “idiot” says he has no regrets.

“Hey, that’s just the way I was back then. I wasn’t happy in my marriage, and that’s just how I dealt with it,” he said. “See, ballplayers are a different breed. With all the women throwing themselves at you, it can be hard to resist. I can’t even keep track of all the girls I slept with back then. Half of time I didn’t even know their names. My ex-wife, she was a nice lady but she wasn’t right for me. She was, like, totally obsessed with being a caring mother and doting over our children. Boring!”

Damon also said he is working on a sequel to the book in which he admits to cheating on his current wife.

I don't think that's Vanessa. Vanessa's a lot smaller. He seems to like brunettes though.

I agree 100% and I have met a lot of handsome actors and models whose wives are a bit on the plane side.

I am not a Minka hater but I don't see the two of  them together. Despite Minka being on the float I have a feeling her days are numbered, remember that book he is not that into you.  Jeter went on Letterman and denied all the engagement rumors.  She might land famous guys such as Chris Evans but they don't keep her around permantely.  I think Derek likes to have a bed warmer, until he meets the love of his live he has to have some girl around.

And Also I Find Something Else About Minka...

to all you minka lovers just got a little info about minka that is not even her real name so when she lying on all them tv shows that she was on talking about how her mom picked that name out for her that was all b.s her real name  Alanna. now can some of you minka lovers tell me why in the hell that girl would have to change her name? it's not like she is working with the cia or something minka is a fake just like that smile on her face. for all you people that love the minka and derek b.s the only reason why jeter wanted her to be on the float with him and his family is because when they do call it quits jeter not going to look like an asshole he's going to walk out of it looking like the good guy just like he did with all the other break ups he had with his other girlfriends get real minka lovers. or may i also say minka...alanna whatever your REAL name is because we all know that you come on this website and others to find out what people saying about you keep living that fantasy girl because it's all going to fade away just like your acting career did.

Best post I've ever read on this site.  Perhaps I'm wrong, but Derek doesn't look like a man that adores & treasures his g/f.  I hope he doesn't settle for less than 'the one' just because he's 35 & wants kids.

They seemed distance on the float, they  have a weird relationship. I know he is private with personal life, ok we get it. but acknowledge you have a girlfriend. at least he did clear up the engagmenet rumor on letterman. i don't think she is the one for him.   she is more around because of arod having Kate aroudn all the time. You can totally tell he controls the relationship. Anyway,what is she going to do bring him to LA?  No cares about him in LA or anywhere else except NY... 

I think with all the excitement attention Derek's head was not straight as far as helping his mother.  I guess Derek invited Minka on the float becasue she was stuck to him for the past couple of weeks.  From the photos I don't think Derek is in love with Minka, I think he likes having a girlfriend around.  Derek doens't have to marry a supermodel most women with makeup are attractive but I have a feeling Minka is not the one for him.

Derek isn't serious about Minka. Hes all about himself and he just confirmed that when he wouldn't even help his mom up on to the float for the parade. I was shocked to see that. He practically climbed over her as she struggled up. And Minka stood behind everyone and looked like she was trying to follow his orders. At one point she tapped him on his back and asked for a picture of the two of them like a fan would. It was grossly odd! He forced a smile then turned away immediately. Hes not a man in love, thats for sure! She doesn't look happy when shes with him. Hes used to dating the worlds most beautiful girls. Ones that make mens heads turn wherever they go. He likes that, but Minka is not that kind of girl. She blends in. She must be hurt after the Lettman interview and all the gossip blogs saying that Derek was with his former gf this week. I wonder why she takes his crap. Oh yea, now I remember, shes a fame and money *hore.

Rodriguez and Hudson "got there at 2 a.m., but Kate left after half an hour while A-Rod stayed close to 5 a.m.," a spy tells the mag. "Minka and Derek seemed really happy, as did they all, and didn't leave until 5 as well."

I found this on an old gossip post in the Daily news from 07.  Minka certainly gets around I did not know she dated Chris Evens.

Who is Essence Atkins is she a model,  Derek met Gabriel at the Michael Jordan Bahams golf match  after Jessica, it sounds like they just hooked up in at club in the bahams, I don't think they ever went on a date but I am sure Gabriel threw herself at Jeter, she is an athlete chaser and she always goes to events that attract athletes.  As far as Jeter not dating black girls maybe he didn't meet the right black female yet, I knew guys for years that dated one type but they married someone who was a different type.  Even though Derek Jeter looks spanish he is half black, I think he mentioned his favorite athlete was Jackie Robinson, if he was tyring to be white he would not have said that. 

If your dating a pro athlete, you shouldn't be suprised when he cheats. You shouldn't cry either, because there are a thousand girls who wish they had just one night with him. Like me. ( I guess that makes me a wanna-be pro ho.... if only I lived in new York:)

Back off. She is speaking the truth. When has Derek dated black woman? You know darn well he hasnt and his so called rumor with Gabrielle Union doesnt cut it. I believe he's missing out cause there are some very smart and beautiful african american woman but its his choice. I seriously doubt Derek would be interested in Essence. She isnt on Maxims top list. Gotta be on the list to be with Jeter. Its all about image.

And this why Derek Jeter will never get married.  Appears he has insecure issues with himself, so how in the hell can he trust any girl that he is dating (enough to marry her)???

To the gf who thought Jeter was rude to her bf.  You have to put yourself in his shoes for a second.  He is in Philly, where 98% of the fans are not on his side.  He can’t go anywhere without people breathing down his neck.  He is a very private person and given that he was out of his element (NYC) he was probably extra cautious. I met Derek, Minka and his friends on vacation this winter and they were extremely nice and friendly.  I did not tell him I was a admirer as I did not want to be that doting fan that I’m sure he gets every day of his life. He is extremely well rounded and presents himself in a way most people dream of. I was worried that if I met him, he wouldn’t be as great as I had envisioned.  He was truly a nice person.  Minka actually was too, and took the time to ask me questions like where I was from.  Love to hate her, but it’s pretty hard!   I’m sure it was no disrespect to your bf.  Read section from 60 minutes below.  I would be the same way.

I have to argue about Jeter's character w/one of the last Rookie's comments. I met Jeter at a party and he was delightful & polite. He told me I had a beautiful smile and was very friendly. He did not have to talk to me but he did and was very sweet. Maybe he had a bad day when you met him.

Well I am curious to know when and if Derek will ever get married.  Seems as if he can't trust anyone, especially a girl, to even begin to settle down and get married.

And if anyone believes in finding one's true soulmate  then I would say Essence Atkins from the show 'Half n' Half' is the lady for him;-)

Hello, I have been browsing this site for awhile now, and love reading all the crazy comments! You guys rock..I noticed a few of you have said you at least got to meet Derek Jeter at least on one occasion, shared stories, etc. I'm not expecting to marry the guy, I would just love to meet him, say hi, see what he looks like in person, etc. and what's crazy is I LIVE in New York, and have never ever even saw him..Can anyone suggest to me a great place where the chances of meeting him are pretty good?? For instance, where at Yankee stadium after the games, anything at all, etc. I mean, nobody's perfect, but he seems like a good person to meet, he is a baseball legend.
