Rumor has it the Twins could be turning Frankie into trade bait, according to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star Tribune: Trade Francisco Liriano? It isn't just crazy talk If Frankie is traded, it could be an even bigger mistake than the Johan Santana trade after the 2007 season. I think this is mostly rumor and speculation at this point because the FO has shown no indication as of yet that they plan to make a long-term offer to him. Also, I believe that the reason he has yet to get an extension offer is because of his rough 2008 and 2009 following Tommy John surgery in 2006. They want to be sure that he's fully recovered and can meet or exceed his 2010 before locking him in for the long haul. |
