I just met jayson in April , he is so awesome . He was not going to sign autographs that day . Then he saw me standing there on the way out and he rolled his window down and called me over . It was a dream come true I just want to saw hi , he signed my shirt which I will never wash . And we talked for a second then other fans come over bummer. The he started to drive off and he drove over to are car and said bye and thanks for coming . Wow ! I thought I was going to die my husband had to pinch me . For the last couple of weeks that s all I have been talking about . So thanks to my family for putting up with my dream guy , and thanks jayson for being so awesome and so freakin cute !!!!

Jayson finally got what he's worth--

The details of Jayson Werth's 7-year, $126 million contract with the Washington Nationals have emerged -- and the deal is heavily backloaded.

Werth's annual salaries, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, are:

2011:10 million

2012: 13 million

2013: 16 million

2014: 20 million

2015: 21 million

2016: 21 million

2017: 21 million

He also is due a $4 million bonus between January 2011 and January $2012, essentially bumping his 2011 salary to $14 million.

Nats are gonna regret this after the first two years. Worst signing of the decade.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 07 Dec 2010 23:28:23 GMT

You "heard" wrong.  The front office did write him off for whatever reason.   And, yes, it was quite obvious the mgnt. didn't want him.

Why jump on Jayson who consistently gave his all to the team while keeping a low profile?

You should be talking about that overpay moran who choked in the 9th inning, with 3 balls & 2 strokes and cost us the championship.

"Oh gee, I just choked."  Now that's an A-hole.

he said he wasn't wanted and that he wasn't part of the phillies plans for the future- what a crybaby, i heard they offered him 3 years 55 million with a 4th year option, that sounds like a wanted person and part of the future, 126 million over 7 seven is too much $ for a 32 player, sounds like a money decision, that's all, has his ring wants his money, just say it like it is, we are not stupid, we get it.

Jayson isn't a werthless backstabber. He went to where he was welcomed and that was Washington. Why should he sit on his couch waiting on the phone call that the Phillies wanna resign him, when it wasn't gonna happen. Jayson I love you and I wish you the best in Washington. I'm sad that he didn't stay in Philidelphia  but at least he gonna make Washington a better place and I have a reason to watch the national, except when the Phillies play the Nationals.

If I had the choice between Jayson and Chase, Jayson would be the one in a heartbeat. Chase is "cute."

Jason is a real man.  Woof !!  Not only could he put his sneakers under  my bed anytime, I'd take them off for him.

I'm very skeptical about the rumors that he's banging Chase Utley's wife.  One, you can rarely trust internet-generated rumors and secondly, if it was the other way around...Mrs. Weth screwing  Utley, that would be more believable.  Going from Chase to Jason Werth is a huge step down.  Chase is smokin' hot...JW good ballplayer but nothing to look at

It is beyond my comprehension that the phillys would think of trading Werth. This guy is another Utley, but in the outfield. How he can perform with the way the phillys are treating him only shows how good he is. I was disgusted when they traded cliff Lee. It really was a rotten thing to do, especially after how he loved being here and the way he pitched from the beginning. Do you remember him almost getting a home run on his first game. I believe it was the Giants, but never the less, he won, he won big and he almost did it. He missed by about two feet. I understand getting Halladay and I agree with that, but I would strongly advise the phillys to get him back, however. I thought that they phillys suffered bad luck the way they traded Lee. I beleive that all of the injuries etc and bad record in the beginning was pay back by the baseball god. Yes, they recovered, but look at how they did it, what they went thru. I think that the baseball god just wanted to show them that they did a bad thing.  I really love the phillys, they remind me of Boston, my home town, but I would really think that if they got cliff lee back, they would be the real beast from the east and the fans (don't know how many more seats they could fill - consecuvetivly, but it would be fun to see, (if Lee came back). He is a philly player and the fans know it. Ask around via talk shows and ask everyone, you will find out two things !:they want him back  2: he would come back w/no hard feelings.  After all they got rid of Polanco (not for the same reason, and it was tortuous I am sure), but they got him back. Lets do the same for Lee.   Hamil, Halliday, Oswalt, Lee, Madson, Lidge, and lets not forget the old man. What a teacher of the game would do for the pitching staff and pitchers to have than Jim, for at least one more year. His influence would go along way to help those guys that they have. I know that Hamil would benefit. He told a story about how Jim cam in to pitch with a wicked fever etc., and pitched his heart and body out. Hamil was impressed with that and Hamil needs someone like jhim around for at least one more season and hey, maybe Jim could be on team in a teaching/coaching capacity for ptichers.  john De

This whole thing is sad, very sad.  From everything I'm reading, the front office has just written Jayson off. They've elected to spend their money elsewhere. What are they thinking?  "Far off fields are never greener."  Fools!!

When Jayson goes, it will be a Phillies loss.

Phils did offer Werth an extended contract, he did not sign.  Even if he is still here after the trade deadline on the 31st, he will become a free agent at the end of the season.  He wants more money than what the Phils can/will offer him.  He wants to stay in Philly....he also wants big money.  I love him to pieces, and I am trying to come to grips with all of this.  He will probably go this week....the Phils have to upstage the Eagles training camp media :)
