I have it on good authority that Jeff Francoeur is indeed a douche -- a guy I know at a party told me this. Francoeur is a member of an organization in college and was visiting his chapter, giving the guys who offered to drive him around a hard time and acting like he was too good for them (even though he came back to the college on their behalf). The guy I know was saying that they would never ask Francoeur to come back again.

So him dancing with a girl at a club and get into her car...maybe she just drove him back to hotel, but yea..if ur married 1. shouldn't be at a club, 2. shouldn't be dancing with a girl, and 3. shouldn't leave with her...just saying i'd be pissed if my husband did that..and i don't care if his other teammates were there, your married don't go to the clubs

Jeff Francoeur is the man, he is one of my favourite players....I know he isnt the player alot thought he would turn out to be, but I think he is a great presence in the club house and a really solid teammate. The Royals feel the same way apparently,just signing him to a 2 year extension worth a little over 13 million. As much as I like Francoeur I wouldn have been more comfortable with a 1 year extension at no more than 4 million. If he can sustain his level of play as of right now then it wont be too bad. Currently he is hitting .275 with15 home runs and 66 RBI through August. I am not sure why people hate on him so bad, I guess becasue he didnt become the player so many thought he would when he played for the braves or was it his lackluster 2010 with the Mets. Either way you dont see blogs for how much Mike Mccoy sucks.....Becasue he never acheived anything in his career. I think most who hate on Francouer are just sour. Anyway I had to come on here and show some support for Frenchy and share my thoughts on what I think is an unfair bias towards a stand up guy and a pretty damn good ball player. Ps he has a cannon for an arm wich is pretty fun to watch. Oh and by the way I am a die hard Blue Jays fan lol....no Bias here.

Jeff Francoeur is absolutely the BEST player in baseball. I'm a die hard Atlanta Braves fan, but my loyalty to Jeff will always take first place. I don't care about his stats; he's a great player because of the way he treats others: with dignity and respect. Never lose your faith in God Jeff, and know that you are always loved by this Brave fan.

I have been a life long fan of the Braves.  But, Francoeur is my favorite player.  I really respect his fielding and throwing ability. 

I am not a hitting coach, but it appears each swing is for the fences, and he ends up off-balance.  I wish he would swing to make contact first.  The power numbers will follow!

 you know what i love about the mets they stick together even if there losing 20 to nothing there still laughing in the dugout having a great time.  they always give highfives and good sportmanship they really dont care about the score they just love the game. well they care about the score but not as much as there freindship

The thing that makes me laugh is that the year that McCann signed his 6-year, $28M deal, Francouer apparently turned down a similarly-termed offer.  He was looking for twice as much.  I'd be interested to know how much he's regretting that decision now.  I doubt that Francouer will make $28M during his entire big-league career.

Yesterday was the worst. 4 pitches in a critical bases loaded, no out situation with 3 whiffs, only one clearly a strike. It tells you all you need to know when the Braves' announcers actually suggested a double play might be a good outcome of the at-bat! Remember in Little League when the coach would say to the weaker hitters "don't swing until you get a strike?". Time for the same with this "major leauger." The good news is that his Parkview/Gwinnett fans won't have to leave the county to see him play before long.

Jeff Francoeur is a tall, good looking white guy from the Atlanta area.  That's apparently what got him to the big leagues as he was a career .275 hitter with minimal power in the minors.  So when he got sent to the minors last season for a long weekend and his minor league manager told him, "Do what got you to the big leagues in the first place," he figured all he had to do was swing at every pitch and look good while doing it.

BIG LEAGUERS MAKE ADJUSTMENTS FROM YEAR TO YEAR, SERIES TO SERIES, GAME TO GAME, AND PITCH TO PITCH.  Francoeur and anybody else who can't learn to adjust will thus suck as soon as the other teams find the holes in their game.  Francoeur can/will not adjust, the other guys have figured out his holes, and thus he has become a below average player.  If he could only catch, he'd be a good enough hitter for a back-up catcher, but not on the Braves as David Ross hits better than Frenchy.

Man, he's lucky he's tall, white, good looking and from Atlanta.  Because there's not much else there...

I like Francoeur, but he really does suck. Unless he can start taking A LOT more pitches, he should be DFA'd.

Francoeur, 2009 (so far):

.271 BA, .287 OBP (Which is awful, especially with what his BA is), 4 BB (on pace for 20), 3 HR, 19 RBI, 17 runs scored

While he's on pace for 86 runs scored and 96 RBI, his OBP is killing the Braves.

One thing my buddy thought was funny. Before the girls came over to him he was holding a plaid purse with a black long strap. I dont know whose it was or why he was holding it but when he saw the girls coming over - that purse was gone lol
