It is hard to believe anyone would have anything wrong to say about Mariano! A humble professional who has given back a lot also. He was in the arena all this time making good. The people who criticize have what authority besides jealousy? What have they accomplished with Less fault in their lives than Mariano? Just curious. Papillon

I hate the Yankees with a passion. However, I do have a lot of respect for Mo. I was pretty crushed when I heard about his injury. He said today that he plans on coming back next season because he doesn't want to call it a career on a torn ACL and meniscus.

Mariano rivera is a cheater. He stole Jackie robinson's number. Who on earth whould do that?!?!? Why would you disrespect the man who made baseball, a different sport! He is not that good of a closer anyway? why let some lousy bum take jackie's number?
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 07 Apr 2012 13:47:56 GMT
Mariano should get rid of that silly smirk he depicts every time he messes up. Also, he should stop making ridiculous and bombastic religious remarks that do not exists about the things ghat happened to him in the games!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 07 Apr 2012 13:42:56 GMT
He should have been traded three years ago! He is old and I do not understand why the yanks still protecting him. Posada was another junk that only batted well. Posada could not throw out an elephant if this one attempted to still a base, and also could not run at all. He caused the yankees the play off with the tigers when he had tigers stealing bases at will...

He was great before, but, now he is a liability indeed! He has blown very important games lately

My son had you sign a baseball your rookie year in Texas Stadium... He was 10 then.  It was his greatest object.  Our house burnt down 4 years ago and it was in it.  How can I get an original signature ball again????  You may even remember us.  We were Ranger's fans, but kept yelling, hey man, hey man, sign the kids baseball, come on, please... until you finally came over and signed it!!!!

I second you.  I've watched more than 90% of all Mariano's games and he is absolutely atrocious!  I cannot believe a team ever signed him.  I'd rather have a Little Leaguer out there.  HONESTLY.  He sucks more than that fool Derek Jeter.  If there was a Hall of Shame it would certainly house both Mariano and Jeter.  Two of the absolute, by far, most extreme worst MLB players the league has ever seen!!  I could go on for days...
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sun, 30 May 2010 21:11:37 GMT
Mariano is probably one of, if not THE, worst closer in MLB history and don't you DARE try and tell me otherwise. You've got to be a complete idiotic fool if you think he can even COMPARE to the likes of Santiago Perdido or John Dominguez! You suck Mariano!
Anonymous (Sophomore) wrote on Mon, 12 Apr 2010 20:45:20 GMT
Mariano is one sexy MF! LOL!  Anyway, there was a guy who worked security at my job and he looked like he could be Mariano's twin, though he is much younger. He thought it was funny whenever I called him Mariano.  Jeez, he is a cutie!

Marino Rivera is the best closer ever he needs 4 saves to get 530 Career saves because he got his 526th save in 2009.

Mariano you have been a great part of this team and the important issue is that you are who yiou are.  People will always talk because they have nothing better to do in their lives but mind other people's business.  You are and will always be the greatest closure ever.  Keep on rocking Mo.

Love, a fan.

Someone that goes on & on claiming to be a good Christian yet regularly cheats on his/her spouse is a hypocrite.  You have to walk the walk if you're going to talk the talk.

(From Joe Torre's new book)

The account of the Yankees' collapse in the 2004 American League Championship Series against the Red Sox is like a backstage pass to all that. And it ends with this quote from Mike Mussina, one that hasn't gotten much play yet, maybe because it's not about Alex Rodriguez:

"We were up 3-0 and Mo (Rivera) came in again with the lead and lost it. He lost it again. As great as he is, and it's amazing what he does, if you start the evaluation again since I got here, he has accomplished nothing in comparison to what he accomplished in the four years before. He blew the World Series in '01. He lost the Boston series. He didn't lose it himself but we had a chance to win in the ninth and sweep them, and he doesn't do it there."

Mariano Rivera has taken the mound under the brightest of spotlights for the last decade. He has delivered inning upon inning of brilliant relief, breaking bats and ending rallies along the way. Figure measures 7" tall and comes with display stand. A must-have for fans and collectors.

I think there may have been a story or some photos floating around otdl baseball gossip board about him. It was a long time when i visited that place and it was either he or andy that was said to have a mistress.

" Does Mariano suck? Yes! Of course he does"

Pass some of those drugs you're taking over here.
Anonymous wrote on Thu, 21 Feb 2008 13:47:05 GMT
Does Mariano suck? Yes! Of course he does, and the Yankee sportswriters want to stick their heads in the sand with assurances like "Well, at least the closer spot is all tied up," like his missteps in 2007 are just a bump instead of a trend for an aging, worn out pitcher. The Yanks have lately had a loyalty to their older guys based more on sentiment than sense. They'd better not get too used to Joba in the starting rotation since he'll be the closer by the end of 2008!

But here's why he really sucks: Mariano tried to defend his lousy pitching last year by saying, "Hey, I'm only human!" Well, bub, if you wanna be "only human", go get a job for eleven dollars an hour somewhere and see how fast that chip falls off your shoulder!
