Blackie is going under the knife on Friday to deal with the entrapped nerve in his right forearm. The estimated recovery time is 6-8 weeks, which doesn't concern him. Blackie usually starts throwing around Christmas and expects to be ready for Spring Training.

Blackie's season is officially over. He was put on the 60-day DL retroactive to August 22. He has an entrapped nerve in his right arm and hasn't been able to throw for quite some time. Now that he's out for the year he can focus on getting ready for Spring Training and spending even more time with his daughter.

I have yet to see a photo of Peyton as I'm hoping that there is a picture of her in this year's family photo album in the Twins' bi-monthly magazine. But I did ask him about her at TwinsFest in January. He seems to enjoy being a Daddy a lot.

Blackburn got engaged this past week to his girlfriend of the last year and a half, Alicia. The two met at an Oklahoma-Texas college football game through a mutual friend and hit it off immediately. She's been through what has been a whirlwind ride for the pitcher, and Blackburn said that he can't imagine things going any better for him right now.

"It's definitely an exciting time for me," Blackburn said. "Getting married is something everyone looks forward to, and then everything is going well pitching-wise, too. It's unbelievable. It's been quite an adventure."

opps, correction...the wedding was supposively in Minneapolis. I still don't see that happening with a game on the same day or it being a Sunday. Plus, a wedding of a professional baseball player wouldn't be kept quiet regardless of who it is. People would have heard.
