Last season Reyes had more hrs (15) by far in any year since 2008 and he hasn’t had 10 or more hrs since 2013. He also started off last season very slow & didn’t show signs of life until the 2nd half of the season and almost set a career high in hrs @ age 34. He’s also a mentor to Rosario. Did you hear what Mark Teixeira said about Cano & his assistant during his tenure with the Yankees after Cano got suspended 80 games? Rosario = PEDS

And all of a sudden Rosario hits not just a HR, but a monster no doubt about it moonshot hr that is equal in distance to what Albert Pujols would hit. Am I being critical of Rosario because I think he’s overrated in my judgement? No, I’m a realist and I see what’s actually happening. Rosario = PEDS

Trade scenario...
Marlins receive
Amed Rosario
Luis Guillorme
Peter Alonso
Andres Gimenez
Mets receive
J.T. Realmuto
After trade Mets promote Favon Cecchini to play SS.
Amed Rosario is an overhyped cheerleader. He is completely lost at the plate and is very overrated. If the Marlins want him, they can have him.
Sandy Alderson...are you listening? Amed Rosario has a sub 250 BA, and very poor OBP & SLG percentages. The Core 4 of the Mets should be Nimmo, Conforto, Cecchini & Smith. All 4 have very strong OBP & SLG percentages.

In 8 games this 2018 season Rosario had 27 AB’s and has 12 strikeouts. That’s a 44% strikeout ratio. In last night’s 4/09 game vs Marlins with no out and runners on 1B & 2nd, a ground ball was fielded by Rosario. Instead of throwing to 3rd & getting the lead runner, he started a DP that was very close @ both 2B & 1B. You always get the lead runner out if a DP doesn’t end the inning. Rosario SUCKS. Sandy Alderson, call up your 2012 first round pick Gavin Cecchini and play him @ his natural SS position.

710 AM sports radio makes me laugh when they say Rosario is going to be really good. He strikes out 30% of the time, gets an rbi once every 5 games, has a .248 BA, and they complain that only one Sandy 1st rd draft pick has panned out so far between Nimmo, Conforto, Cecchini and Smith. That’s b/c Sandy won’t let them play. If Rosario was eligible for the MLB draft instead of an international free agent signing, he would’ve been a late round pick in a best case scenario. Besides the Mets, he was only chased by the White Sox and Astros. It hardly seems like he was lighting up the scouting dept’s around MLB before signing with the Mets. Rosario will never pan out like other international FA’s like Bogaerts or Devers or 1st rd draftees Correa or Lindor.

Correction...Both Rafael Devers & Xander Bogaerts showed minor league stats that were realistic projections of the major league stats with the Red Sox major league team. I used these players as a comparison to Amed Rosario since both were International Free Agents and they are close in age to Rosario.

I was researching Amed Rosario’s minor league stats and comparing them to fellow Dominican Rafael Devers (3B) and Xander Bogaerts SS (Aruban) both of the Red Sox. I discounted Rosario’s AAA stats since those are inflated from playing in the PCL. Red Sox AA (Eastern league) & AAA (International league) are more realistic stats vs PCL. Both Red Sox players showed stats with power & BA equal to their minor league stats. Rosario doesn’t even compare. I don’t see how Rosario will ever develop or compare to either one of the Red Sox infielders. I’m going to standby my projection that Rosario is going to be an MLB bust. Check out the stats for yourself @ www.baseball-reference.com

Amed Rosario 2017 fielding stats...19 errors @ AAA plus 6 errors with the Mets. 25 errors @ SS and he's the future @ SS?!? Give me a break. Send Rosario to the Mets new AAA affiliate the Syracuse Sky Chiefs, bat him leadoff and see how he responds without having Don Smith protecting him in the lineup. In the meantime, start Gavin Cecchini @ SS and Matt Reynolds @ 2B for the 2018 season. Let's see how the duo responds in spring training.

I know that he's young, but he should be better by now, 9 RBIs in 44 games? That's horrible. And the double-pump on D? That should be out of his repetoire. I hope that I'm wrong, but I too see him as a bust.

The answer is simple as to why Rosario sucks. First of all, he's a leadoff hitter at best. Sandy Alderson made sure that @ AAA this season, Rosario was either hitting 2nd or 3rd and always with Dominic Smith hitting behind him. Thus, ensuring that Rosario would always get better pitches to hit and having protection in the lineup. The problem with Rosario is not that the Mets have him in the bottom of the lineup, rather that he belongs in AA Binghamton batting leadoff. When a player is rated the No. 2 prospect in all of MLB and is hitting over 300, that player should be able to hit anywhere in the lineup. Unfortunately, Rosario was always coddled by the Mets front office. If Rosario was such a hidden gem, he would have been drafted or at the very least, more than just the Mets, Astros, and White Sox would have tried to sign him. Another major problem is that the Mets AAA affiliate plays in the 4th most hitter friendly ballpark of the very hitter friendly PCL. That's where Rosario gets his highly inflated stats. The Mets need to relocate their AAA affiliate to the International League where hitting statistics are more realistic. It's really to bad that Wally Backman left the organization, because he was a much better AAA manager than the puppet being controlled by Sandy Alderson. Cecchini is the SS of the future, NOT Rosario. The stupidity of the front office is that Cecchini should be hitting 3rd NOT leadoff. Look @ the No. 1 prospect in MLB, Yoan Moncada, whose 111 BA is sure to garner some ROY votes (😆🤣😂😜). Rosario is going to be a major league bust. Let's start a DFA watch for Rosario. The Mets hyping Rosario and thinking that he's going to be as good as Correa, Lindor, etc. is like saying that Kaz Matsui was as good as Hideki Matsui. Anyone remember how that comparison turned out?

Looked like a deer in headlights tonight. For all the hype, he is nothing great. Reyes was and is much better. Mets win game tonight with Reyes at short.
