Of course the time makes a big difference. He isn't with the same people he was back then. He has different influences and has had mentoring.

It must be nice to have such a clean slate that you can judge someone on one stupid thing they did.

The laptop thing happened when he was like 19. He's totally turned himself around. The Red Sox made sure of it before they even signed him. And they had him go through a mentoring program to help him out as well.

Those of you who never did something stupid when you were a kid can throw stones.
