Looks like Happ can't suck.....yet. Starting the year at AAA. If he can't get it together in the minors, you will never see him in Wrigley again.

Spring training off to a great start for Happ........ 52 AB, 7 hits, batting .135 with 14 strikeouts.  He has actually improved from last year.  Instead of striking out 43% of the time, now he's only striking out 27% of the time.  Of course, his Batting Average is worse than a Pitcher, but at least he's not striking out.  I'll bet Joe has him in the lineup on Opening Day.

In fairness to Happ, he has been swinging better with a 3-run HR to win the game last week and some good swings this week. But the numbers don't lie. As a team, the Cubs strikeout 21.9% of the time. Happ is double that at 43.5%.

I'm a baseball fan who loves the Cubs and loves good baseball. Maybe you can start the "I love Ian Happ Fan Club".

This is not a fan club. All I see posted are shitty comments about Ian Happ. I will never check out this site again.

Happ is in the lineup again tonight. Hasn't had a hit in a week, but he has 10 strikeouts. SMH as to why he continues to get playing time. Cubs are struggling to remain in 1st place....it's not time to give struggling players extra at bats. The Cubs need the best lineup on the field, period.

Seriously...what the hell is this guy doing in the lineup? Hits 9th and has struck out 3 times tonight. 3rd strike he looked at a pitch right down the middle on a 3-2 count with two outs and 2 runners on. He needs to be demoted and definitely needs to adjust his swing...always swinging for the fence. Makes no sense that this guy plays as much as he does.

Correction, Happ box score tonight......0 for 3......just struck out looking. What is it going to take? I think it's time that Cubs management sent Joe a friendly email reminding him that the Cubs should put the best team on the field whenever possible.

Happ box score tonight.........0 for 2.......2 strikeouts.......getting close to a 44% strikeout pace. If the Cubs were out of the race, I could understand giving a guy a chance to work himself in. But in the middle of a penant race?

Classic Happ........missed 2 bunt attempts and takes a called 3rd strike, keeping his strikeout pace at 43.5%. His first strikeout tonight included 2 classic "launch" swings. The upcoming playoffs are going to be painfully embarassing for this guy.

Just watched Happ taking another "launch" swing. First, he's not a HR hitter. Second, with a man in scoring position, a real team player would be trying to make contact to score a run....in this case, the lead run. But "no", Happ is only concerned about power numbers for himself.

Why on earth is this guy starting over Almora? He's a switch hitter? Big deal. He strikes out from both sides. Hope he gets it together but what he's doing at the plate this year is sad.

Hey Joe, what does Ian Happ have on you? 43% of the time, he strikes out. Oh, maybe it's the whopping 36 RBIs and we're into September. He's making you look really bad, Joe.

After 2 years in the big leagues, why doesn't anyone teach him how to get rid of the one arm swing? Why does Madden love him so much?

You should have been been in every playoff game. Maddon is an idiot.

Chocolate Dong Eater Maddon needs to put down the crack pipe. He chose No Hittin' Heyward instead of Miss Happ.

Hey Ian, just in case the hitting coach (whose value is determined by the cubs team batting average - need I say more) never told you this, may I respectfully offer you this piece of advice? After two strikes please try chocking up a full two inches on your bat. Just try it for one game. Also, just swing for the single. A guy by the name of Pete Rose made a fortune doing that. Check out his life time batting average. And please, after you have read this, pass it on to the hitting coach. Apparently he needs this advice more than you do. Thank you and good luck to you and the Cubs.
