What the hell, are you people stupid? Like someone else said, put him on the Yankees and he'd be one of the most praised players in the league. People say he "only hits singles" and "only has a high average because of infield hits". Well, what's wrong with infield hits? What's wrong with singles? Pete Rose mainly hit for singles (look up his stats) and no one gives him shit for it. He'd be in the HOF easily if it weren't for his betting on baseball thing.As for Ichiro's defense skills, 9 straight Gold Gloves don't lie: He plays awesome in the outfield. And thanks to his speed he can cover ground quickly. On base, he is a speed demon. Sure he's never matched his 2001 total of 56 stolen, but he at least gets over 30 per year, which is very very good. |

I also think he's an overrated ego maniac, he's not a team player, and he's a woose ....he gives Japanese people a bad name in my opinion...They look up to him why? I do watch the Mariners and root for everyone....cept him.Lazy SOB.... Let his translator translate that. |

So what if he hits infield, does he hit? Who decided that a hit has to cross the in-field. It does not matter if he gets a hit in infield or he gets a hit by bunting 50% of the time. The point is every single time he gives your team a quality at-bat and gives you the chance of advancing the basesWait, is that not man enough for your home run obsessed consciousness, go get a life. I live in Seattle and love the Mariners, but Ichiro sucks. Take away his infield single crap, and he hits .270, so no, he isnt a great hitter. And his OBP is like .030 higher than his average, and he hits for no power. Try getting on base better than 40 percent of the time if you are hitting .360

you guys are so stupid, have you ever even watched him play?? he is one of the best hitters in the game today. he also has 8 and soon to be 9 gold gloves. he has an mvp award. hes been in the allstar game for 9 years in a row. and he is almost at 9 strait 200 hit seasons which will be a record. and most if not all you are hating him because you are racist and prejudice bastards. and you obviously know nothing of baseball because you say what he does doesnt make him a good hitter when what he does actually is hitting. the clean, real hitting instead of jacking home runs all day. your all idiotic morons and have no right commenting on baseball when you obviously know nothing about it or how it is played.

Just for a moment, think if ESPN were to glamorize his workman like attitude what would your opinion be. If he was in a major city market like New York, Boston he would have won 4 or 5 mvp's. Ichiro is a stuck up and over-rated asshole. He treats his teammates like shit and is always complaining and crying. He thinks his the best player ever, when he sucks at hitting. His average is only high because he can get infield hits because of his speed. All he is speed. A pitcher needs to wipe off the smirk off his face with a fastball. And I am tired of people combining his Japanese stats and Major league stats.
