Also, I forgot to mention. I couldn't care less about Maddie or whatever the hell her name is. And by the way Joe, when you're sick, tired, lazy and don't feel like playing next year, tell it to the Marines you little bitc'!

If poor ol' Joe's knees or back isn't hurtin', its his weak legs. If his legs aint a hurtin', he's got the flu. If he hasn't got the flu, his sore pu?sy hurts. He's an overpaid glass jawed piece of crap.

I may have seen Joe today. I saw someone driving around alone in Fridley that looked exactly like him. (I think it was Fridley..haha.. it was either Fridley or Blaine - I never know what town I'm in!)

Joe's mistake - and he now readily admits it - was postponing last offseason's knee surgery until December. If he had it done in October he would have had more time to rehab it and more time to prepare for Spring Training. Right now he's still dealing with pneumonia and won't start his conditioning program until his doctors say it's okay for him to resume his usual physical activity level.

But he will be worth a even less if he has to sit out 2-3 months of the season because he is in severe pain from catching. If he can do it then great. But no amount of money is worth being in chronic pain.

The decision to move Joe form behind the plate will be up to Joe, his doctors, and Gardy. If his docs tell him he needs to be moved permanently to a corner infield or outfield position I seriously doubt he'd ignore their warnings.

I read an article on TwinsBaseball.com today that looked at the team's needs next year. Depending on what Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel do, and whether Justin Morneau will be able to play at 1B next season or be limited to DH, the team may look into bringing in a veteran catcher to serve as a back-up or possibly to split time behind the plate with Joe so he can play at 1B or DH and protect his knees. Again, there are a lot of factors to consider.

The greatest downside to moving Joe to a different position is that it will drive his value down. There are A LOT of 1B and OF players with that kind of offense who are making the kind of money Joe is right now. It's because he's a catcher with that kind of offense that makes him valuable. I can really only think of two other catchers who can come close to Joe as far as both offense and defense are concerned, and neither of them are in the American League. Neither of them are close to winning a batting title, either.

Reply-to:Anyone who actually has played baseball and been a catcher knows why it is a tough position to give up.   Enough said.Back off Mauer

But the fact of the matter is that his knees and legs can no longer handle catching full time. Unless he can make a dramatic turnaround in the off-season. That would be great but I don't know if it is realistic to expect. If his knees are shot that means his catching days are numbered.

Reply-to:Joes days as a catcher are done. He refuses to accept this. Thats why he went to 3 different groups of doctors  Hes doctor shopping for someone to tell him what he wants to hear. Even if  he gets better and catches again how long will it last? If the soreness came from catching wouldnt he just get sore again before long? Then what? Back to the DL for another 2-3 months after playing 7 games?

Anyone ask why he is so hellbent on staying at catcher? I will tell you why! Its not to help the team. It is because of that Nike Swoosh Logo on the front of his mask and in the middle of his chest protector! Its all about money with this kid. He strong armed the twins into a contract. Then he fooled all the fans into thinking he can hit, when really he was just hitting them out of the old homer dome. The guy is a weakling. He watches those pitches so that he can walk, he NEVER wants to swing the bat, just reach base. All his hits come in the 7th and 8th innings and they are singles off of the opponents dumpy middle relievers. The guy is going to cripple the minnesota twins organization. No money for free agents, and now no farm system. And guess who runs the farm system, JAKE MAUER!!!!! So all of a sudden a good farm team turned to crap since JAKE MAUER took over and players being called up dont know the fundamentals! Get rid of that dumpy mauer family

Everyone in minnesota believed that mauer was the best catcher in the league and he WAS!!! Now, it is a different story. He is probably too overrated considering that he has 1 HR all season, but even when he won his two batting titles and he still was overrated. He is okay but he does not suck and this website has no meaning anyway.

You people are ABSOLUTELY F*CKING RIDICULOUS! You degenerate scumbags are all that is wrong with America, give all your sh*t-talking-selves a pat on your demon scaled backs. Seriously all this f*cking hate and jealousy gear toward delusions of grandeur. "OMG, I HATE THIS AND I HATE THAT. I NEED TO BE WITH JOE, OMG" Listen to all you people. Do you think talking all this shit is going to magically align your blackened souls with Mr Mauer?! You are all the same person - being brought up in this media saturated world has gotten the best of all of you. Grow the F*ck up, you passive sheep.

He's not getting paid 184 million, and hitting 3rd, to stand up there and watch good pitches go by. He is always hitting with two strikes. He goes up there to draw walks, no agression at the plate. His uniform is never dirty, he looks like a coddled wimp.

Reply-to:Joe Mauer,64 230lb singles hitter. You can fing 85 yr old women walking with a cane that are tougher than this pussy. The man has no shame. Taking all those millions of dollars and doing nothing to earn them.

You are right on!!!  He's Frank Thomas - but white, no power, and a pussy!  At least Frank showed up to play!  Frank was a singles hitter who happened to hit about 30-40 HRs a year.  And he's the same size as Joe.  F you JOE!!!

Joe's townhome has a purple door???

joe mauer has no idea how much money he can lose buying car dealerships, he can get ripped off big time if he doesn't know jack about running car dealerships, and i doubt if he does because the owners running them now with years of experience is no picnic. wanna bet he loses his ass on this venture?

Reply-to:How is everyone liking the outdoor stadium without a roof now?  Really stupid idea in Minnesota!
I can tell you're not a true fan of the game. The rain outs have been a problem all across baseball. Already more rainouts this year than there were last year. Baseball is an outdoor sport.
