And for what it's worth, look at fielding bible's plus minus ratings, Fangraph's UZR ratings, and TotalZone. ;-)

Yeah that must be why he's an allstar, won a gold glove( at SS) has had 5 200 hit seasons, and has a .302 career avg. Anyone who knows ANYthing about baseball knows young is an above average player.

200 hits doesn't mean much, other than he had a lot of PA. Juan Pierre has three of four 200 hit seasons. He sucks.

a .302 average is good, but it isn't that good when his OBP is around .348-.350.

Gold Gloves are a joke and embarrassment to baseball (see: Jeter's first 3 GGs, Adam Jones winning over Franklin Gutierrez, Palmeiro winning despite very few games played at 1B, Nate McLouth (LOL) winning in '08, most of Torii Hunter's GGs).

I'll admit I was a little harsh and I agree he's above average, but he doesn't really belong near the HOF. He just wasn't really near being one of the best players. He deserves to get his number retired by the Rangers though

He's a decent hitter, I guess (although he's obviously benefitted from the joke of a ballpark known as Arlington). Awful fielder though.

Michael Young is the single most overrated player in the history of sports. He is a cancerous tumor feeding off of a ridiculous portion of the teams salary. Give 11x gold glover Omar Vizquel a spot at 3rd and free up some green for another star pitch and we would see a world series. Oh, and don't get me started about playing Chris Davis over Andruw Jones.
