Ryan was a student in my 8th grade Pre-Algebra class at Sherwood Middle in Baton Rouge, La. He was a very polite and intelligent young man. He always worried about his grade and for what, I do not know why.He always did well. Not only was he good in HS baseball, but of course, while he was at LSU. I am always proud to see my students do well. There is also one other student that attended that same school, who existed similiar kindness, Mewelde Moore and also plays professional sport. He plays for the Steelers and of course this is football. I doubt if Ryan will ever get this message, but I want him to know that each time I hear his name on the news or see him play, he can never imagine, the feeling I get as an educator. No, I did not teach him a thing about baseball, but it feels darn good to know that I took part in helping to eduacte him.....Keep up the good work Ryan!!!!!

um....he does NOT suck. he's good at going opposite field and as of late he's been one of the more consistent players on the team. he's even had a power surge this year. for a while he was carrying the team...due to lack of offense from the "big" hitters.

He does suck, I try telling people this and everyone love him...... he's anti-clutch and leads the team in errors

tom yorton u r right he is a great player i mean if u thank he sucks dat ur opinion ryan is hitting great nd he is still young he has respect for da game nd anything Lou tells him 2 do he listen

if u relli think he is worst then cesar isturis ur crazy he is better den jimmy rollins as far as average

better den joses reyes as far as obp%

nd he is better den j.j hardy as far as fielding % spo next time wen u want 2 say somethin bout ryan theriot look at his stats compared 2 veteren short stops

Hey Ryan ur like my favorite player man i wtch u play for LSu wit Mike nd yall were like the best double play combination

Im hoping on comin 2 c u oplay the Pirates on the 27th the day before i go back 2 skool i want 2 like c u in person i think ur the best short stop in the league with ur .316 batting average

I hope 2 one day get 2 play with ur or agaist u my dad said some shortstops dont last long in the league im jus wondering do u thank u have 5 or 6 more years

ryan theriot is my favorite player. he's not a big home run hitting guy, but he gets on base a lot and does nothing but hit, hit, hit and always comes out with big rbis.(this is to the person who said he didn't, do you even watch cubs games?) besides, you don't need great power to be a great player. oh, and his average is almost always around .320s -.350s. so i suggest you quit this. to the person who made the remarks about democrats, i like you.

Where are all you guys now? That was all last year. Look at his stats now! You are all like Democrats...you only have something to say when things are bad, never good. And besides, my best friend is crazy about him! Leave Ryan alone!!!!!!!!

he looks like a child molester!
He is wimpy. Not tough enough. SHOULD BE PLAYING SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!
you guys are idiots
He realizes that if it weren't for all the dumbass cubs fans out there who support him, he would be out of a job. If these Cubs fans just looked at the facts:

He can't hit for a decent average
He can't hit for ANY power (Doubles, triples or Home runs)
He can't get on base (Never takes pitches, very few walks)
Plays well below average defense

But no, because he tries so hard, people just love him. Come on Cubs fans, wise up.
Also, he's one of those anti-stat guys who claim that getting his uniform dirty and "playing hard" is more important than, you know, producing runs or winning games. That makes him a shitty player AND a complete dumbass.
Hes very very bad. He's the second worst shortstop in all of baseball (Behind the Cardinal's Cesar Izturis). Hits for low average, doesnt take walks, doesnt hit for doubles or power of any sort. Below average defensively and 28 years old. He is one of the worst starters in all of MLB
