C'mon guys, Vernon's a great player, his lifetime OBS of .330 is amazing! $15 million a year is such a steal. Averaging 15 homers, 60 rbis and a .245 average, as well as a .191 average with RISP, amazing!

Then again, what do you expect Wells to do, he made a smart business move; take advantage of the terrible management of Toronto Sports teams. Vince Carter did it, Bryan McCabe did it, now it's time for Halladay to get a big pay day and suck for the rest of his career. And as usual, people wonder why Toronto teams can't win shit. Unbelievable. |

If Wells and sadam hussain were each hanging off a cliff and I had to choose one to let live, I would personally walk over to Wells, push him off, and save the other loser.

AAAAAAAAAHHH.... This guy just has zero clutch ability. I've only really being paying attention since the all-Star break, But as it stands, I'm pretty sure that if a mob formed and they were looking for someone to be tared and feathered, I don't know how quick I'd be to defend Wells from that outcome.... |

I got him on my fantasy team this year figuring this has got to be the year where he puts it all together...WRONGIf the man had any dignity, he'd walk away from the rest of his contract and say "I'm just not that good at baseball, I will inconvenience the lives of my teammates and our team's fans no further and pursue a career as a janitor" |

Every Blue Jays fan sighs when Vernon takes the plate, you just know he won't get a hit. He hits 1/4, it's Ryan Dunn without the homeruns! |

Vernon, so much for the offseason conditioning for the first time in your career. You are not a winner, and you never will be.

Overpaid. Underachiving. RISP? Nothing like a well timed popout to 3rd. Sit back and enjoy the ride, that's Wells in a nutshell.

wells is so pathetic. Not only does he never come through at the plate, he has no fight in him and accepts the fact that he is an underacheiving player on a mediocre team

Vernon Wells is toronto's version of a "Big Poppy". He is the king of big towering pop-ups, usually when runners are in scoring position. Package him in a trade with Rios and be done with the underachieving, overpaid, golden sombrero wearing, can't get the bat off the shoulder, runners lob, .........................

Vernon Wells reminds me of a former Jay named Willie Upshaw. With RISP, both Upshaw and Wells would find a way to "pop out". Although I am a die-hard Jays fans, I had to turn off the television in mid-game after our most "prolific" hitters popped out once again. In conclusion, it is due time to ship to the knackery - where old horses go to die. Signed ---- Thornhill Trio |

I have to admit that when Vernon signed his most recent contract 2 or 3 years ago, I was very nervous about the Jays losing him. I was ready to start cursing JP but now, I see that long term contracts, and the back end loaded ones are the worst idea in Professional sports. He had a decent year last year, but his average over the last 3 years with "RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION" is atrocious. Now we are stuck with this mamouth contract and will not be able to get rid of him unless the Jays are willing to eat some of his salary. Why don't you display some emotion Vernon, at least let us know that you are trying. Pathetic.

Vernon Wells is extremely overpaid... he doesn't deserve $18 million a year... i wonder where rogers will get the money to pay him... umm let me guess: from a bunch of disgruntled Rogers customers!
