After going down 1-0 to an Eddie Gaven goal in the first half, Dallas responded with three unanswered strikes in the second half, the second two coming quite against the run of play. Arturo Alvarez tied the game just after halftime, and Abe Thompson added two more in the final five minutes. The result gave Dallas their first win in Crew Stadium, but more importantly it qualified them for the playoffs with two games remaining.
