Lyoto, you lost against John Jones, but in my eyes you could have just as well won. The fight was decided by millimeter hits and misses. Keep it up Lyoto. Don´t give up. I think Lyoto Machida is one of the best fighters in MMA.  You can not become champ like he did unless you are one of the best.  You should show him a little more respect.  Would any of you be willing to get into the cage with him?

Lyoto is a great martial artist, no doubt, but he shouldn't be fighting in the UFC!  I feel in all of his fights, his opponents should be racking points for being the aggressor.  I don't think Machida is a bad guy.... in all reality he is a stand up guy... but he "fights" like he don't want to be in the ring... which is Basically Karate's base principle, which is to avoid conflict!  You can't deny that he runs in all his fights... which happens to work to his advantage, b/c the other fighter gets tired of chasing him around the octagon...... b/c FYI to all the so called MMA fans.... just like boxing you score points for clean hits and takedowns/knockdowns, etc.  Honestly I don't think it will be long before MMA fighters adapt to runners like Machida, honestly I can not wait for that day to come.... when he's running I am surprised we haven't seen a successful Superman punch knock his @$$ out.

Champion Machida is a breath of fresh air in the world of MMA.  I saw a press conference with Lyoto and his challenger and he was dressed in a Suit and Tie!  He did not give in to all the hype and wear a t-shirt to advertise and make a bunch of money.  That is integrity folks and he has it.  He is gentleman fighter who is the best possible roll model for young martial artists all over the world.  He brings something unique to the UFC and MMA world and that is HONOR.  He is a true martial artist who recognizes the fact that: "Your biggest enemy is yourself" and Karate/Jui-Jitsu etc is so much more than fighting; it is a path to peace and a way to help others.  He will coninue to inspire millions.  Thanks Mr. Champion!!

Here is a lesson about traditional karate and it's methods: karate is based on the white crane method of gong Fu. The tactics are primarily based on being elusive and attacking only when your opponent attacks. This is called sen no sen, attacking the attack. Using your opponent negitve actoin against themselves. This is how a smaller person can defend against a larger person. It is about strategy and intellect, not force and aggression. Lyotos stye however is modified a bit for the mma, true karate in a real life situation would be far more deadly. I admire lyoto for using braines over bronze and demonsrating a real martial art to what people call a martial art event. However, it is understood that you could never have a true martial event because that is war itself. People would die.

Lyoto is good at staying away from the other fighter, this is called running, we don't know if he is good yet because nobody has tapped him on the chin yet, we have only seen him hit and run, this next fight with shogun I think he will be tested.  Not a big fan of either fighter but I like to see a good fight not a track meet.
