I just wonder if they really feel this way or if it's nascar pushing them to hype Jr up.

It's called pandering.  It is very common in politics and media commentaries.  You simply say things to appeal to the masses in general.  "Feed the sheep".

Over88ted, while funny, is after all a parody website.  I always look forward to reading the choke report on Mondays, but you do have to take it with a grain of salt as far as who said what.

Yeah I know all about the choke report that's why I asked if it really happend. It's believable that Kenny would say something like that.

A couple of weeks ago on SPEED someone made a comment which I thought was in poor taste.  A commercial immediately followed .  After the commercial this someone had retracted his statement and said the opposite of what he said before.  I thought that was odd also.

It just looks stupid when they make so much of him and show all these commericals with him and then the race starts and the guy is back in 20th.

I can't believe ANYONE (especially Kenny Wallace, who supposedly has some understanding of the sport) would compare Jr. to Tiger Woods & Michael Jordan. Those 2 guys proved themselves a long time ago........Jr. will never prove himself.

I was reading the choke report on over88ted and read this. Can anyone say if they saw Kenny say this? I think it's pretty sad.

Before the race Kenny Wallace implored Junior on national television to "please win one, because we need you to save our sport". He compared Earnhardt to Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan.... Please.... The only thing Earnhardt has in common with Woods and Jordan is his tax bracket. There is a difference between being NASCAR's most popular driver and NASCAR's most important driver.

One word describes Woods and Jordan: Clutch. They get it done time and again with pressure on. Ice runs in their veins and they are champions.

If Woods and Jordon are clutch, then what is Junior? Fried clutch? Junior has zero championships and can't seem to get out of his way. He has shown that when the pressure is on he misses his pits, causes a crash or puts his car into the wall.

While 'Junior Nation' loves their guy, the growing majority of fans are cooling to the Earnhardt hype and recognizing the skill level of NASCAR's top drivers. Drivers like Johnson, Stewart, Edwards and Busch. Jeff Gordon and Earnhardt might as well be from different planets when you talk about NASCAR's most important drivers.

Jr has already been replaced by Tony Stewart.  It's like keeping a different set of books for the company.

To all the loser nation fans who claim the restrictor plate tracks are JUNEBUGS strong point think again.

1. cup  ---  39th

2. nation wide  --- 40

now thats something to brag about.

Being a little overly optomistic aren't you?  His (and their) season is already over.  He sucks.

I agree he sucks, don't get me wrong.  However, mathematically he can not be ruled out just yet, although it will now be an extreme long shot for him to make the chase.

If he posts 1 or 2 more races 15th or worse and the top 12 don't have a sudden run of DNFs then he would be finished even mathematically.

That's the point I'm waiting for, so I can hear and read all the moaning and groaning that will rise up from Jr Nation about how it was everyone's fault but his.

I'm betting there will be some real doozies invented, like conspiracy theories about the 24 and 48 teams...to crew chiefs sucking...the call for the old impala's to replace the COT...you name it.

Yep, that should be some really interesting reading and give me a laugh or two or three...especially when the blow-hards will still try to call him a top ten driver.

Where is DEI headed now? That's right, the way of the dinosaur.............

That was my point exactly.  If Juneslug han't have acted like a spoiled little brat, it could all have been avoided.  DEI would still be a profitable company on merchandise alone thanks to all of the sheep in Loser Nation.

Why did Jr think that he was entitled to 51% ownership of DEI?  Maybe if he had asked/demanded a smaller percentage of ownership in the company things would have worked out much better for everyone. His other siblings also are just as "entitled" to their share of the company IF Teresa saw fit (it is her company).

Where is DEI headed now? That's right, the way of the dinosaur.............

Okay even though I agree that Jr & Smelly oops I mean Kelly were wrong to try and take DEI you all seem to forget that Kerry is oldest and by the 1st wife, Punkboy & Smelly are by the 2nd wife and Taylor is Dale & Teresa's only child. And also you should remember that Smelly has been running Punky's life his ENTIRE life for a long time. And he seemed happy at DEI before his REAL MOMMY came back into the picture which was just before he turned 30. Hmm...Anyone else thinks it's odd that when MOMMY came back then all of a sudden he didn't want to work for DEI anymore? Do the math.

Who cares about any of these drivers.  NASCAR is stupid.

Oh, thanks.  Now that I know that, I can stop paying any attention and just do something else.  So glad you could point that out for us.  Nascar is almost as stupid as posting comments on forums in which you have absolutely no interest.  But thanks.  Thanks for opening our eyes.  Really, thanks.

I understand Hendrick said after the race that one of his cars won.  So he's got Stewart and Jr. will be bypassed.

Jr. just sucks worse every race.  He should be one of the "start and park" guys.  He'd have the same outcome and it would alot cheeper for Hendrick(s).  If he would have been worth a shiz he would have been ahead of the big wreck last night.  He can't drive.

And since he didn't get his way, he basically "took his ball and went home" so to speak.  And with him, went the mindless sheep following the shepherd straight into mediocrity.  How pathetic!!!
