Someone correct me if im wrong, but didnt jeff gordon have a bad habit of running down the straights and into the turn really low and slide up into the traffic to make passes?  Not that it was wrong, actually smart, but others would have to lift to keep from wrecking.  Isn't that what brought the yellow line thing into racing anyway?  Gordon is alright but the line has caused nothing but problems.  I say get rid of it and let them race through the grass if they want to.

nascar changes the rules all the time.back in 2000 the intimidator won @ talladega, everyone would pass below the yellow line, that was the best fall talladega race.last years fall talladega race was awesome too.they need to get rid of the yellow line rule,it's ridiculous!

I agree. They need to get rid of the yellow line rule.

My take on it is they wanted TS to win.  He is a fan favorite below jr and the TV ratings are down.  Nascar would'nt even discuss it.  If the 01 would have been the 88 you would see different results.

That's what I thought too, since it took Nascar all of about 20 seconds to review the ending and declare Stewart the winner.

Yep, I remember the 2001 race.  The best Talladega race ever.  But, I believe nascar wanted someone more popular to win the race than Smith.  Ratings are down and nascar does in my opinion manipulate races from time to time.  No matter who you like, 18, 20, 88, 99, or whoever, nascar is a corporate driven money sucking business and they want the fans to give up the bucks.

according to what I read today==Nascar said that Smith was half way across the yellow line when Tony bumped him.  I didn't see it that way on Sunday. Why would they let Kyle do it and not Smith.

You are absolutely correct.  I see what you mean.  I thought you meant at the finish line.  But I apologize.  I see they called it marginal saying he was forced but he still pass.  Ironic enough it was Ragan Smith wrecked.  I have trackpass and never heard one more word about that.  Thank you for the info.

I'm not trying to be hard nosed about this but I don't see any mention of a yellow line.  All articles keep saying about the frozen track because of the caution which showed Kyle's bumber ahead.

Read 4 articles and none mention yellow line.  Maybe we are talking about 2 diff races.

Do a Google search for Kyle Busch Talledaga 2008. You'll get plenty of opinions about whether he made the pass below the yellow line.

I'd say that because I remember the race.  Hey I'll look it up and I'll apologize to you if I'm wrong.
