John Wes was a great CART racer, a GOOD Bandit driver....But that obviously doesn't transfer over to NASCAR. As Zaxby's licensees, we have grown Tired of seeing our advertising dollars go to support a mediocre driver who spends more time in the WALL than on the track. Just because a college running back puts up phenomenal numbers doesn't mean he's going to pan out as a PRO. Maybe JWT's DADDY will give him a job @ Zaxby's making Crinkle Fries!! I've said it once and obviously need to say it again. I don't know what kind of person Townley is. He might be the greatest person in the world. I'll even assume he is. That doesn't change the FACT that he totally and completely sucks as a race car driver. His glaring lack of ability has nothing to do with his character. As a person he might be the best but as a race car driver he is most definitely one of the worst to come along in a very long time.

john wes is my friend y'all need to stop i just found this yall are really cool judging someone who isn't even racing anymore and never does or says anything mean that i have heard of so why do you have to say he sucks are you jealous that his dad invented zaxbys and he happened to be an ok driver so he got to nationwide series go talk to other drivers out there i bet you will find a dozen drivers that got in to racing cause someone had some money to get them there

He's actually not that bad of a driver; he just was in over his head in 2009. Bowyer wrecked the 21 more than Townley did. Townley was showing real improvement before Richard pulled him out of the car.

The only legitimate criticism, I think, is that he exited RAB the second time in a very strange way, and left them holding the bag. The least they could have done is gave RAB some Zaxby's sponsorship for the rest of the year.

I still wonder if he'll resurface next year. I mean, he's really not that bad. But it may just be the case that he doesn't enjoy it, or soured on the whole thing because of his first run with RAB.
