First of all I'm a Tony Stewart Fan. The reason Jimmie Johnson hung out in the back all day was so he didn't end up like Ryan Newman. Restrictor plate racing isn't racing. So for all you low I.Q. so called race fans bashing JJ you need to stop it. Plate racing is a farce and all it does is feed you crash hungry fans the big one. Well if you are at the track for the wrecks you are not a race fan, you need to go to the county fair and watch the demolition derby. Nascar needs to reduce the size of the engine for the big tracks to they can run without RP's and still have the torque to pass each other. Yes this might cost the teams a bit more money but other than and Ryan Newman said Get the bulldozers out and tear down the banking i.e. Brickyard. That is the only way to solve this. We are going to have another Dale Earnhardt on our hands soon if something isn't done...I don't mean the talent either I meant the loss of life. So all you dumbasses out there talking about the balls to race...Shut up your have never raced and have NO idea what you are talking about. |

Actually, I do remember when Jarrett and Earnhardt SR did it too. It pissed me off then too. I'm sorry, I watch NASCAR for racing, and I like the drivers who actually do that through the race. |

Oh my god. Shut up you morons. You are the type of "fans" that give everyone else a bad name. You to fixed on your own opinion to appreciate their accomplishment. Its incredible. JJ was very smart to do what he did. I think he is a very talented and SMART driver. Both Dale Jarrett and Dale Earnhardht have raced in the back before at Dega and then came up to the front towards the end. Maybe you are forgetting that. |

Damn straight! Drivers either need to race to win or not race at all. Points racing may win a title but don't mean nothing |

that "strategy" pisses me off. 48 is going for a damn Sunday drive like my grandmother. Some of those guys actually have enough balls to go race. (although the entire field was lacking in the ball area, obviously with our parade on Sunday.) Quit sandbagging, 48 team, and grow some nuts and race like the big boys. |

I know it was smart racing but if I had paid to see this race in person and was subject to that kind of wimp ass attitude I would be hot! People pay good money to see these drivers race hard and for JJ to sit back and limp the whole race was a disgrace for not only himself but for his fans and sponsors. If this kind of behavior is condoned by Lowes them people should boycott Lowes to let them know how they fell about JJ's actions. JJ is a very talented driver and should be proud and thankful for what he has and where he is at in his life. NASCAR has been good to him and he just gave NASCAR and everyone a big slap on the face. At this point the only thing that would make his actions right would be for JJ to lose the point lead and the championship. Rick Hendricks should be calling JJ on the carpet for that kind of behavior and if not shame on you Rick! I am one racing fan that will not root for JJ or shop at Lowes any more. Jimmie's not the first driver to use this strategy, and he certainly won't be the last. Sorry, I just don't see it as a slap in the face to Nascar or anyone else. Talledega is a crap shoot and shouldn't even be in the Chase. One guy's bobble can take out half the Chasers and ruin their chance for a good finish. Jimmie did what he needed to do to survive and finish in one piece. Rick Hendrick has a driver on the verge of winning his 4th championship in a row - believe me, he's not gonna' be calling Jimmie down for the way he ran the race. |

Jimmie Johnson is a great driver but he races for points instead of trying to win a race. What Nascar do you watch? I've seen Jimmie race hard and win plenty of times. |

I think, given the circumstances, JJ did what he had to do to protect his points lead. Strategy and survival are a massive part of racing. |

They did excellent work. They survived and now they are most likely going to win the champ. Well done, 48, well done. Respect. |

Gordon "To me, our sport is about strategy, it's about longevity, it's about pacing yourself. I thought it was a great race. But unfortunately the rules that we have are going to play out. " and it's about surviving, really just plain ol common sense. I find these comments on this board ridiculous. Excellent work yesterday 48 Team. ( there was some luck involved ) |

This whole issue about bump drafting was to protect JJ from harm. Just think about it. |
