Considering the weather, I should be cooking something.  But, I'm not going to the grocery until tomorrow, so it's just leftovers today.  Plus, I'm getting my taxes done at 6pm, so it'll just be a light dinner beforehand.

Yes, I'm in the SE, but we've had such a cold winter (for us) that it may as well be the NE.

Hey Ginger!  I didn't post but I read all of your messages.  You didn't think I'd purposely miss the fun here, did you?  ;)

Lia, sorry to hear about the meeting.  I hate when that happens too especially when I've put too much effort on preparing for the meeting.  Looks like you are on to cooking another great meal.  What is it this time?
Ginger (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 16:31:53 GMT
Hi Lia!! Wow you got a lot done!!! It is only 8:30 here, I'm still just having coffee now!!! Oh wow you live in the Southeast??? IDK why, but i thought you were in the Northeast for some reason!! BBP from Pau's forum was telling me they had a blizzard this weekend  in NY!!! Poor thing she was E'mailing me from outside and said her hands were so numb she could barely type!! Wow you girls are so brave !!I am a chicken. I don't think Icould take cold like that!!! But the snow is pretty!!! :D
Ginger (Legend) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 16:26:22 GMT

Good morning Dirkettes!!! So cool they won last night!! YAY!! And I'm so glad K is back!! I was starting to worry yesterday, it had been a while. I was going to mention something if you didn't show up soon!!!! Glad your back!!!! :D

Wow I got a lot of back reading to do. And I see a couple pictures here of Dirky to oogle!! <3

Oh here is a thought. Dirk is also single this Valentines day!! You girls should all send him a Valentine card!! I am thinking of even sending him one!! That would be fun, we could all write a cute little romantic note to him in our cards too!!! <3

Liapita (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 16:22:21 GMT

I hate when I'm up early, dressed, and ready to go and my meeting was cancelled.

Oh well.  I made good use of the time.  Swept the floors, vacuumed, washed the bathrooms, and am getting ready to tackle the kitchen.  Another exciting, cold, rainy day in the Southeast.

I don't know what season this was taken, but it seems dry.  Somebody tell him that he needs to plant flowers all around the house.  Isn't that the complete opposite?  All manly in the inside, and girly on the outside?
Liapita (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 14:00:50 GMT

Yes, I'm single, and enjoying it.  Though, I'd like to meet someone, of course.

I'm off to a meeting now and then getting my taxes done later today. UGH.

Have a good one ladies, Lia

I think it's ok to be nosey Lia as long as we know our limitations.  Like, even if I lived in Dallas I wouldn't be stalking Dirk.  That would just be creepy.  Btw, you're still very much single, right?
~K~ (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 13:53:24 GMT
I love your new profile pic Ginger.  He looks so  young in that pic.  Black and white pics always bring out the drama.  Love it!

Another question about married life, Dirkettes:  How do you keep the fire burning?  Frau and I (are you married Jerry?) are learning from you.  =)
Liapita (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 13:51:34 GMT
K, if you're nosey, than so am I.  I just looked at the video on YouTube of Dirk's house.  It's lovely.  Manly, but beautifully decorated.  Big but not ostentatious.  He has good taste and a good decorator :)
~K~ (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 13:47:57 GMT
Awww, you girls are too nice.  Thanks. =)
~K~ (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 13:46:27 GMT
Hey Frau!  Somewhere on that site there's a box where you can type in a name and the pictures of their houses come  up.  There is a video on youtube which shows the inside of his Preston Hollow house. (Now I really feel that I'm snooping. =P)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9wkHt4u4IE

If you notice, that is the same kitchen that is in the video with what's-her-name.

Liapita (Veteran) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 13:43:19 GMT

Oh, K, no reason to be embarrased.  The person who wrote that silly article should be embaressed not you.

Google Earth is crazy.  You can see almost anyone's house.  Neat, but a little Big Brother too.  I haven't used it before.

Glad we pulled out the win even if it was a tough one.  It'll just take a few to turn the tide.

This is supposedly his home in Wurzburg.  It kinda reminds me of Wisteria Lane, pretty and peaceful.

This is supposedly his old house in Highland Park.

http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/dirk-nowitzkis-house-1/view/?service=1

And his home in Preston Hollow.  Fancy name!

Is it true though that he moved out of his Preston Hollow house after all that drama with her?  According to one comment, this article says that he changed everything...phone number, email ad, etc.

Hi K, I'm glad you are back!   There is no need for you to feel embarrassed about your post the other day.  You were just sharing what you saw.  And we know you like Dirk.  We like having you here. :-)

Speaking of sharing, I don't know how you came across all of those pictures about Dirk's house, but wow!  Hey did y'all see the tennis court and pool?  That looks like lots of fun.  I can only imagine how pretty his home is on the inside.  I bet it is very picturesque looking out into the backyard when it snows or during the spring, when the flowers are blooming.  Listen to me, like I know what his backyard is supposed to look like. lol

Dirk, anytime you want to give me the personal tour, you call me, okay? lol j/k  ;-)  All kidding aside, I'm sure it is nice for him to enjoy himself at home when he is able to.  He's done well for himself and he should feel very proud of his accomplishments.  Good for you Dirk.

Hi Jerry.  Thank you for sharing your beautiful country with all of us.  I love hearing about Germany.  It sounds like a lovely place, rich in history and culture.  I would like to visit it someday and see the Schwanstein Castle.  Wouldn't that make a lovely location for a wedding?!  Does anyone ever get married there?   It really is so beautiful.  :-)

That is why celebrities have to be careful because there are a lot of freaks who could easily do them harm.  I hope he  has security in his house.  Did you see that video on youtube where two guys went to his house and asked for directions?  Dirk opened the door and was too trusting.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 12:45:18 GMT
If these are actually his homes I have to admit: It kind of freaks me out how easily you can get tracked on the internet even without much effort. I mean: Pictures of your home, in 3D, from an bird's eye perspective, everything.. You would be able to research the exact adress even. Scary thought...

Hi Dirkettes!

Jerry, Germany sounds lovely.  It would be nice to vacation there someday.  I prefer the verdant greens of the countryside than the city buzz.

Our boys seem to be struggling as of late.  The last game they played against the Warriors they were behind by as much as 12 points.  Fortunately, they found their touch in the last few minutes.  I give the credit to Jason Terry for that win.  They keep saying defense wins games, and yet their defense s*cks.  I am still truly hoping that they win a championship with Dirk.  Look, the Saints were the underdog and they still won the championship right?

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 10:11:56 GMT
BTW, I got the feeling that the Mavs have lost their momentum recently. I got this impression by reading the game reviews (unfortunately I can't watch the games because of the time difference). Even when they win it usually seems to be a tough win. Or is it just me?! They seem so tired and uninspired lately. I wonder why that is. Just tired because of the stressful season? Just a phase? But I'm positive that there will be better times, hopefully during the finals when they will "get the ring". ;)

Good morning Dirkettes!

Phew, the Mavs seemed to have made it, I just checked the NBA results. YAY! ;) But reading your post I assume it hasn't been the most attractive game to watch...

Hi girls I'm back.  I laid low for awhile coz I was kinda embarrassed by my last post. Hey K, don't be, there wasn't anything wrong with your last post. Honestly!

Jerry, please tell us more about summers in Germany.  Are you close to where he lives?  There was a popstar from Germany who used to be popular here back in the late 90s.  His name is Gil Ofarim.  Have you heard of him?

Summer is really lovely in Germany. Usually it's pretty warm, so you can wear shorts, shades, shirts and flip-flops. Sometimes it's raining though, but that's OK, because of that everything is pretty green here, lots of flowers. And the days get "longer", so in June we got daylight from 4 a.m. til 10:30 p.m. That makes up for the cold and dark winters. But to be honest - as much as I'm fed up with winter right now, I think I wouldn't wanna miss it, because it really makes you appreciating spring and summer even more.

I've heard of Gil Ofarim, I remember him vaguely, but there were only a few hits and I haven't heard anything about him lately.

And last, but not least: I don't live even close to Wuerzburg. In fact, I live almost on the other side of Germany, the northern part, about 300 miles away. Even the scenery looks a little different.

Why is our German lion frustrated?
He is frustrated because they keep fouling and falling behind by 12pts. They need to focus  harderand work together to pull a win out of this.

Start of the second half.  We are trailing by 9.  C'mon Mavs step up!!!

Hi girls I'm back.  I laid low for awhile coz I was kinda embarrassed by my last post.

Frau, I've been a member of NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth) society for the past 25 years, but I've always had dates for Valentines.  My parents!!  I couldn't be happier although it would be nice I guess to do something different.  Don't worry our Prince will come. =)

Jerry, please tell us more about summers in Germany.  Are you close to where he lives?  There was a popstar from Germany who used to be popular here back in the late 90s.  His name is Gil Ofarim.  Have you heard of him?

Btw, the pictures above are from Facebook.  I wonder if the girl who posts them also post here on talk-sports coz I noticed that some of the pics that were posted here were also posted on FB.  =)

It's always nice hearing stories about married life.  It always seem rosy at first and then the next few years become a challenge.  Lol.  My pops always forgets about the toilet seat!

Sometimes!!! LOL!!!!! MEN!!! Now we know Dirky won't do stuff like that to his future wife huh???? LOL

Hey girls I just found out the drummer who plays with the Who now is Zak Starkey. he is the Beatle Ringo Star's son!!! I thought he was kinda cute yesterday so I researched him. He's not young, born in 1965,(44, close to my age)  but young compared to Roger and Pete!! Wow so weird that The Who are senior citizens now, and they were famous for that song "My Generation" that line in it that says "Hope I die before I get old" !!! But isn't that cool that the drummer is  Ringo's son?? :D

Oh Frau yeah of course there are good things in marriage too and nice times. If you can put up with what i mentioned and also they fart and leave the toilet seat up and stuff like that!!! LOL nah, i didn't mean to scare you, marriage is good. And like i said, don't you worry, your young yet, and you will get a good man soon!!! Better to wait a while for Mr Right than to jump into anything to quickly!!! :D

I think cause it's Monday and raining that it is getting to you more. Jerry and I aren't having the best day either. Mondays are like that and to rain too. No wonder your not cheery!! Glad you are OK Jerry!! I know what you mean. Falling now as adults it is SO embarrassing!!!! I fell down the subway steps once!!!  I was in LA visiting my Aunt and ran an errand on the subway for her. She said it's faster than driving, well not if your sandal slips off and you tumble down the steps. Thank God I didn't break my back or neck, just scraped a knee and elbow and felt like an A$$!!! LOL!!!

Game tonight. YAY Go Mavs!! Go Dirky!! Can't wait we will have a bunch of new pics of him later too!! <3And Allstars this weekend !! Can't wait!!!! :D

what can we do to cheer you up? Maybe a nice picture of Dirk? ;) This one's one of my favourites, unfortunately I'm not able to post it. But here's the link: http://www.lifepr.de/pressemeldungen/radio-bremen/boxid-49376.html
Click on the smallest Dirk Pic you'll find on the website (the one it says "911 kb" and download  it.). It's a huge pic... ;)

jerry

Thank you Jerry for sharing that oh-so-hot-as-hell picture of Dirk. :-)  I am sorry you had a bad fall today.  I hope you are okay.  :-(

Ginger & Liapita, thank you also for your kind words.  We really have a nice group of people.

Ginger married life is good sometimes, right? lol There are some benefits to being married.  I hope so anyway ... you are scaring me. lol

I'm waiting for dinner to finish cooking.  I am making a beef vegetable stew, with garlic bread.  Very hearty for a cold, dreary day like today.  Again, thank you for the well wishes.  Good luck tonight Dirk! :-)
