Will Barry Sims end up with the 49ers?

Barry Sims met with the 49ers brass yesterday and continues a brief NFL tour that includes the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens and St. Louis Rams. I'd certainly have preferred that Sims have visited Santa Clara and quickly signed with the team. Unfortunately that is not the case and we get a little competition for his services. The question becomes who has the best shot of landing him and where does he actually end up. I had thought about a poll but I'd rather just hear the reasons

Pats nix Mixon, Slaughter

The Patriots have announced the release of DB Tim Mixon and LB T.J. Slaughter. The veteran Slaughter had spent the 2007 season out of football, and was signed by New England earlier this year. Mixon spent much of last year on the Pats' practice squad. The college teammate of Ryan O'Callaghan at Cal, he was a practice player of the week on a couple of ocassions.
