So sorry to hear this. He has a relationship with God, so this is probably why he can endure heartache. He and family are in my prayers. |

I just read in an article in the New York times that Curtis Martin lost his dad to lung cancer a day after Father's Day this year. He has dealt with so much death during his lifetime, I wonder what is his secret to staying so positive? |

Hopefully you don't mean overnight stays. Thought he was a Christian. I guess it doesn't mean ungodly things are going on, but he doesn't seem the type to want his image tarnished in such a way. |

Still in NY...also in a committed relationship with beautiful girl he seems to really like. Furnished her whole apartment for her and they spend a lot of time together. If he's not stayin over at her place...she's at his. Hope this helps! |

Has anyone seen Curtis? Is he in hiding? Wow, he must be a recluse like me! |

Since you have so many adversary things to say about him, why are you checking up on a page positively focusing on him and projecting your very own ignorance and/or inadequacies? Find something better to do... Carry on... |

I love Curtis too! My soul recognizes his face. In fact, I wasn't a fan of his as a football player. He was great. It's just painful to watch someone you care about play such a brutal sport! I didn't want to see him get tackled (or rushed) with so much force! Anyway, I feel odd writing this on a blog of all places, so I'm going to retire. I made my attempt to touch the dream a long time ago, but I sense it would be best for me to let my love/soulmate come the old fashion way. What is meant to be, is meant to be, right? Maybe next lifetime . . . MLJ |

Just a fan? The word 'just' carries a lot of weight. I'm sure you didn't mean it the way it reads. It sounds as if you are saying his fans are beneath him. Perhaps the people who care about him aren't fans at all. Maybe they just think he is a very nice person, not just some former athlete. |

I love Curtis and he knows it. He is an awesome man. He is just taking his time to find the right woman for him. We should not judge or speculate. If you don't know him and are just a fan...play that position. |

Thank you. We shall leave it at that since I guess we're getting close to it being a Christian connect lol! Now, back to the issue: Has anyone seen or heard from Mr. Martin? I guess he doesn't get out much. That's probably a good thing these days though. |

To the person listing the Bible verses: I appreciate your input. The words reverence and submission resonate more with me. Ultimately, I don't think we have much choice but to submit to the will of our creator because our creator has the final say of everything; however, fear turns me off. I personally don't want my children to fear me because I'm not sure how healthy that truly is. I prefer respect. I often get caught up in semantics. To the person who asked when this turned into the Christian connect: LOL. What would you like to discuss? Trust me, Mr. Curtis Martin was in mind when the question was asked. LOL |

It's not a Christian connect, but if someone asks a question about God shouldn't WE try to help them? I'm sure Curtis would be happy that someone is talking about God instead of attacking his character on here. He is a Christian you know. |

Did we forget what this website was all about? Don't get me wrong but when did this website become the Christian connect? |

It is not the same kind of fear as with a bully. A study Bible stated that the fear of the Lord means submission to the Lord and His revelation. It is a healthy fear as in fear of one's parents which causes one to act in an appropriate manner. Fear is defined in the Bible (footnote-Proverbs 1:7) as reverential awe. You're right. God wouldn't say 'fear me or else' this is why He gives us choices every single day. He is wonderful like that. |

I love, appreciate, and respect my creator, but fear just rings negative to me . . . I did read the scriptures you suggested and I get the point, but I still have a hard time believing that God wants us to fear him. How can you trust what you fear? Maybe it is the way the author wrote it or phrased it that throws me off. I can't imagine hearing from God: "you must fear me or else." |

Also, read Psalm 111:10; Psalm 112; Psalm 115: 11&13. Hope this sheds light on your question. |

God is the uncreated Creator! To fear Him is to unlock many of the secrets of this life and the next. Read Psalm 103. Maybe this will help you to understand. |
