Unfortunately, Kyle Eckel serves as a fine example to the rest of us of how NOT to serve in the Armed Forces. As someone who had the misfortune of having class with him (he smelled awful!), I watched him lie to our professor on a weekly basis, brag about being able to commit any conduct offense so long as he continued to play, and displayed a total disregard for the values set forth by the United States Naval Academy. Not being stupid, he was able to take advantage of his athletic success. Yes, his four years on the team are probably still bearing fruit as seen in today's team, and the team has been successful (Beat Notre Dame!), but let's hope that the academy henceforth upholds the standards it sets for the rest of the brigade with no exceptions. Kyle, if nothing else, you have demonstrated how not to live one's life. I sincerely hope you play injury-free and with no regrets in the coming years regarding the manner in which you conducted yourself during your short tenure in the Navy. |

hey by the way, to spoil your gay parades you fags....kyle eckel was recently signed by the New Orleans Saints, for $500,000 for the rest of the season. Not too bad. The depth chart says he's #1 at the fullback position too by the way....$500,000.....that's more than you have made cumulatively isn't it? and you've been in the navy as an officer or something else for how long now?.....try not to be so sour |

the best part is half these homos all had a dream one day to play in the NFL. and their dreams were squashed because theyre unathletic wimpy nerds with limp dicks. it's a shame it really is. this is the real world, money talks. he's made more money in 3 years than you will in your entire career. a white running/fullback in the NFL in the 21st century? that's an incredible accomplishment, and guess what, he's a naval academy graduate, aka he's either above and beyond, or on the same level as you as far as education goes, and he'll easily have a coaching job waiting for him in college football or the NFL level whenever he wants to take it, once again, making more money than you. |

The name will never fizzle, so sorry about that. When you rush for 2,906 yards in Division I football with an offensive line consistently 50 pounds smaller on average than any defensive line in Division One football, you can come talk trash on the internet. And guess what buddy, Kyle Eckel is alumni also, like it or not! Class of 2005. Bachelor of Science degree kiddo. Kyle Eckel is an embarrassment plain and simple. He basically got himself thrown out of the navy to play pro football. As an alumni I don't wish bad on a fellow grad but this guy will fizzle and end up drowning his sorrows in a beer glass at some dive bar! Three years of Profootball fame with nothing to show for it. |

I knew Kyle at USNA. The kid was one hell of a football player. However, as a midshipman, he was awful. I saw it first hand while I was active duty on Dant's staff at USNA. I hope that he can make something of himself and I wish Kyle the best. You can't fault him for not wanting to be a Naval Officer. His heart will always on a football field! |

How interesting. I agree that Kyle Eckel put Navy back on the map in college football. Did he have a Navy Career? Not by a longshot and quite honestly he was an embarrassment as a Naval Officer. How do I know? He served with me aboard a ship. He didn't do a good job portraying himself as an Officer and never really attempted to encorporate himself in the Navy. He did everything possible to get out of the Navy to play football. We have had several veterans who have played for Navy (football), served their country (Vietnam) and then came back to the NFL. He didn't even want to be an Officer. I never wish anyone a bad life and I hope he succeeds somewhere in society. |

what faggot started this post anyway? and just for your information all of you "very knowledgeable people"...kyle eckel did more for the Naval Academy than any rocket nerd or you could have ever dreamed of. When people say his name, they think Navy football. If im wrong kyle eckel joined a team which was 1-11 or so his freshman year. by his junior year they were nationally ranked following the last game of the season, somehting navy hadnt been for years and years. that was along with 1176 yards ofcourse. plain and simple, kyle eckel is the modern navy football. hes also legit in madden 09, where also, it says...college- "Navy". If the navy dorks are this loyal to someone who put navy football back on the map since 1963...thats an udder, say disgrace |

Whomever his girlfriend is, should realize: a. he's an out of work undersized NFL fullback b. he was discharged early from the Navy (that will look good on a resume!) c. he'll probably spend the rest of his life working as a driver for Fedex, 'cause he's going to have a hard time getting a good paying job with a work history like his.
