Are you serious...but Sean Considine did so much better then all three of them. That's why he's been hurt more then he's been playing and that's why his spot got taken by Quintin Mikell. Matt wasn't supposed to start, they had Pro Bowl corner Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown when he first got drafted. Why would they start him over the guys that have been there and are getting paid a lot more money then him to play. His role was to play special teams and the dime package. Every now and then he played at safety. He plays great special teams, that's why he recorded the second most tackles behind Mark Simoneau. You weren't complaining when the Eagles had that horrific year after the Superbowl and the highlight of the year for the Eagles fans was when Quintin blocked that field goal and Matt Ware ran it in for the TD to win over the Chargers. Mike Lewis was a Pro Bowl safety in 2005, the Eagles benched him for Sean Considine, someone who hadn't even played that many games. You make it sound like it's easy to make the Pro Bowl. It's particular hard to make it if you're a special teamer, Sean Morey has been playing special teams for years and just made it to the 2008 Pro Bowl. One thing that they look at is interceptions when they select corners and safeties to the Pro Bowl. Fans think that interceptions make you a better player then most. Getting interceptions doesn't make you a good or a better player then those who have none or have a few. Hell...half the time the QB's just throw it right to the corners or the safeties, with no real effort on their part. Lito had a lot of interceptions with the Eagles and went to the Pro Bowl, that didn't keep him from being benched and ending up with the Jets. That pass that was caught on Matt in Superbowl 39 wasn't the deciding factor in why they lost, it wasn't all on him. He's not the reason that the Patriots marched down the whole field to score that TD. It was the whole defense that made that happen. Maybe the reason they lost the game was the three interceptions in the red zone that McNabb threw. You may think that Matt and Rod are horrible, but they weren't so horrible when their team won over the Eagles in the NFC CHampionship to go to Superbowl 43. The Eagles are falling apart anyways, they do their players dirty and have been for years. Who lets go of Brian Dawkins, the player that turned around their 2008 season to get them to the NFC Championship game. The only real leader on their defense. |

A lousy player and as for Rod Hood how dirty did the Eagles do to him...........he played, got a fat contract with the cards, Mike Lewis was awful in coverage, how is he doing in San Fran? Has all three of these below average players made a pro bowl since leaving philly? I never forget seing a tom brady pass in the superbowl in 05 go to the deep of the end zone in, matt ware tryin to defend, the only thing we all said was Oh Lorddddddd thats b/cause Rod Hood got a cramp...lol |

He wasn't lousy, he was never given an opportunity to show his abilities. He had the second highest tackles on special teams two years in a row and was playing on a hurt knee which the Eagles never gave a chance to heal properly. They did him dirty...just like they did with Rod Hood, and Mike Lewis |
