Hines, this just about did me in, I cannot honor the Steelers any longer, what were they thinking?  You are such a loyal player and represent the black and gold with such respect.  You were and still are my favorite Steeler, I just can't stand how this went down.  Someone is going to be very, very sorry that they let you go... way too early.

Hines, I think the Steelers will relent and call you back soon after next year. My whole family is just sick about your retirement. We feel like we know you. My girls both graduated from Georgia. We are from the Pittsburgh area, but now live in Georgia. We are all Steeler fans for life.  There will never be another Hines Ward. Watching the Steelers this year will certainly be with a HEAVY heart. You have a lot of class retiring a Steeler. Your dedication is unpresidented. Good Luck, Hines. I'm very upset that the Steelers let Hines Ward go.That's one of the dumbest decisions they could've made.I'm a huge fan, and the team isn't going to be the same.I have a picture with him when they came to Richmond for the baseball game for James Farrior's foundation, another great player released I might add.I wish them both the best of luck in whatever they choose to do.Hines Ward, never loose that million dollar smile.I'm cheering for you no matter what uniform you wear!

Go Hines!!!  Whether he plays for someone else or chooses another career path he will SHINE!!!  He is an amazing man with good character and will shine in whatever he does.  Remember to keep your loved ones close as they will support you no matter what.  What a dumb mistake the Steelers made and I can promise you they will regret it.  It just goes to show a job is a job and as companies preach "we are a family"...what BS that is....families don't do this to each other.  The Steelers should have let him finish his career.....I lost all respect for the decision makers for the Steelers!!!  What losers and all I can say is Karma is a Bitch!

From the sounds of it Hines portrays himself to be a huge advocate for children and is a wonderful mentor to strangers but not to one of his own children. If he isn't doing right by one of his own, chances are he will not return a Steeler or have much favor in anything. God doesn't like ugly, especially toward small children.
