Jake is an NFL QB, something that you and I will never be. To blame everything on the QB is a lack of understanding the game.  I watched each and every game last season and it was not always Jakes fault.  If you watched receivers didnt run the right routes, blocking was poor, the running backs sustained painful injuries that forced the ball to go up in the air with a team designed around a running game which did lead to some poor play calling.  Im not saying that Jake had a good season cause he certianly did not but to balme it all on him is outrageous.  Jake is an awesome QB, been to the Superbowl where he was awesome in every way, just had a bad season from the playoff hangover, but I dont disagree with Fox and Hurneys decesion to bring young players into the Panthers organization because in the end it is all about winning for those guys and their jobs depend on it.  Jake got picked up right away with several other deals on the table for him so he aint that bad, hell he might be the highest paid QB in the leauge for 2010!!  Lets just appreciate the game and how it works, believe me I was very upset too but you cant just be mad at Jake.  I wish Jake the best with the Browns and hope to see him do well as I am no hater.  I will always be a Panther Fan no matter what but Jake was a major part of that for me.

Jake, thanks for being a class act on and off the field. If Matt learned one thing from you, I hope its the passion you played with every single game. I wish you the best...

It was tough watching that conference on Friday. I know he's not that good of a QB, but wow you could tell he was hurt by that decision.

Not that Jake will ever read this but my heart is truly broken for the loss of a great guy. So he had a bad year, he's human. He is still a great guy and did NOT deserve to be blindsided. He responded to a decision in a most respectful way. Whether or not he should play next season this was not the way to do him. Jake...though I'll never get to meet you now, know that your jersey will remain displayed in my home, on my face book and always in my heart. Your an awesome guy and great things are still to come your way. I will truly miss you and football will not be the same for me. Just know that there are fans out there that are so heartbroken and will truly miss you as our QB. Good luck to you and I wish you all the best. This is not the end of the line, only the start of something new. Your a good man, don't let anyone/anything tell you otherwise. People can be cruel, sadly but they are the ones that are the true loosers.

I love football and everything that has to do with football.  This is because of the tremendous excitement that the sport brings.  This is why I am a fan, this is why I am a fan of Jake Delhomme.  I never seen such excitement and edge of my seat football that I've seen watching Jake and the  Carolina Panthers. I've even traveled from L.A. to Charlotte just to watch Jake and the Panthers.  Jake you are a true warrior and the most real QB in the NFL or any league there is.  I will always be a fan and supporter and hope you continue your career as an NFL QB, cause thats what you are and millions of others dream of it.  Please go on to the next best NFL Franchise, cause I know many are already knockin on your door, like ESPN said your the #1 Free Agent QB out there.  Its all money issues anyway, not your talent cause we know that your talent is unmatched.  Which ever team you play for I will root for you no matter what cause I know what kind of QB and player you are.... are real one.  And one more thing Jake.... Come back and kick some ass!!

This is the best decision the Carolina Panthers could have made. Jake Delhomme has been their problem. Matt Moore is a much better quarterback and with Steve Smith and perhaps Julius Peppers they could be a good team. I'm a Cowboys fan, but the Panthers have potential. This pathetic excuse for a quarterback has just been holding them back.

Jake,
Hearing that you got released today made me so sad. I'm a Charlotte NC resident and have been attending games and watching on tv since The Panthers came to Charlotte. I've watched you ever since you got here and have loved you from day one. Not only are you an amazing QB, but you seem like such a sincere, nice, down to earth guy. You never blame others for your mistakes. You take criticism well and always hold your head high. You always seem to have the best interest of your team at heart. This town has treated you horribly, and for that I'm ashamed. You have done so much for this town and our team, but you have one off season and everyone forgets that. Well, I haven't. Thank-you for all you did for the Panthers and our town. I will always be a fan. I truly believe you're one of the best QB's and guys in the NFL. If you choose to go to another team I will be right there supporting you. I can tell you now The Panthers organization and owners have lost all of my respect by cutting you, Kemo and Peppers. Today is a sad day not only to be a Jake Delhomme fan, but a Pathers fan and a Pro-Football fan. You will be greatly missed, but know you are still greatly appreciated by some here in Charlotte.

Jake- You will be badly missed. You are the best quarterback in the NFL bar none. You have led the team to many exciting victories over the years. I know the way most fans are here in Charlotte. They love the team, only when they are winning. I am sure that Coach Fox was not responsible for this decision. Biggest mistake the Panthers have ever made. Wherever you go, I will be pulling for you for the rest of your career. I am sure this is tough for you, but please remember the stellar example you have set for the young kids, like my son, who may be the next Jake! Good luck to you and your family!

With brandon Marshall being a free agent and likely by coming back to Denver the panthers have an opening for mother pro bowl wide reciever that we could use.

Jake sucks ass period. He is weak and he is not confident enough to lead the team.he should be sitting on the bench until he can get himself together.

All of you were probably the same jackholes that wanted David Carr instead of Jake...............look how well that worked out for you stupid dumba$$es!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 26 Dec 2009 14:00:27 GMT
Those who blame one man for Carolina's fall obviously does not understand the game.  Go F yourself and jump on the Brady bandwagon if you want a so-called perfect QB!  The entire team has a problem.  Jake isn't out on the feild while defense is letting offense score multiple points.  Instead of paying Peppers 17 MM for one season, they should have spent the money on a real defense line.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 26 Dec 2009 13:54:27 GMT
I have to say the Carolina fans suck and have no respect!  It's funny everyone was up Jake's a$$ before the game against Arizona.  In my view Jake is responsible for getting the Panthers on the map. Let's take a good look at what the problem is here; crappy coaching, weak offense (as a whole), lousy defense, etc...  More than often Jake is expected to make completions under pressure when his so called offense is letting defense through.  Carolina fans you have no loyalty whatsoever.............pi$$ off!

Pretty funny that the Panthers win against a good team and actually have some offense with Steve Smith when you don't play Jake. Just leave Charlotte now no one wants you here. By the way I think I saw you in a pizza place over on Rea Rd a few years back. Any other Panther I would have been excited to see. We just laughed and made jokes at your presence because you are a joke.
