Letang to be Evaluated Monday

BOSTON -- Penguins defenseman Kris Letang, who left the team's contest against San Jose Saturday night in the first period with an undisclosed injury and did not return, will be evaluated by team doctors in Pittsburgh on Monday.

Letang's status for Pittsburgh's showdown with the Boston Bruins at TDBanknorth Arena on Tuesday at 7 p.m. is unknown.

On Sunday, Letang joined his teammates as they flew from San Jose to Boston. After arriving in Boston, he boarded his own flight headed to Pittsburgh so that he could meet with team doctors the following day.

Letang has seven points (1G-6A) through 17 games this season and averages 21:21 minutes of ice time per game, the fourth highest total on the team.

Letang's injury is the latest setback for a Penguins team that has been decimated by injuries. Pittsburgh is missing over a forth of its lineup due to injuries to Sergei Gonchar (broken left wrist), Evgeni Malkin (shoulder strain), Max Talbot (shoulder) and Tyler Kennedy (undisclosed).

Dobriy vecher Ladies!
Cooke said it best lastnight........very lack luster performance by the Pens lastnight. They had no urgency.Hardly won any battles along the wall.Most of the game they were back peddling..Don't understand why they kept trying to take the puck in their zone.It wasn't working.It was like they were too stubborn to dump it in.
Sid is missing Geno badly.I'm sure he will be more appreciative of him when he gets back.I knew it would be harder for Sid with out Geno on the road.
Pens are 2& 3 with out Geno so far!

I hope Tanger is okay.He went down pretty hard on his shoulder last night.

I'm sure all they guys watching.......Geno,Max,Gonch & Tk were really frustrated they couldn't help.
Tk might be back for the Boston game.

Yes it was scary b/c he was favoring his arm and went off right away. :( It was just a bad night last night.

Yes bunny its really nice here and the kids are like sugar high or something. LOL

I hope they focus on him now too. They need him so bad. Its so obvious when someone else tries to carry the puck up the ice, no one can do it like Geno.

BB is Pittsburgh in the middle of their Indian summer we are here and its like all the kids are out in the neighborhood just all being loud and boisterous like they were couped up animals let out of their cages lol I'm feeling alittle edgy tOo:)something about knowing these are our last days before hibernation

There is another article about Geno missing at the Post Gazette and he is funny b/c he says its harder working out every day than playing games. lol I cant get it to cut and paste tho, heres the link:

Malkin, donning a red jersey signifying he is not allowed to have contact, came onto the ice with about 15 minutes left during the Penguins' skate. He got a warm reception from his teammates, but he did not participate in any drills, instead doing some light stick-handling on his own.

After the healthy players headed for the locker room, Bylsma stayed behind to join and direct the red brigade -- red-jerseyed injured players Malkin, defenseman Sergei Gonchar (wrist) and forward Max Talbot (shoulder) for some hard lap work.

Malkin had been playing despite the shoulder problem and was a little reluctant to take time off, but the team convinced him he needed to rest it. He said he has been watching games from the team's dressing room, sometimes doing some light riding on a stationary bike while he watches.

"You're not playing. You're a little bit nervous," he said. "But the team is playing very well."

Oh - Ok, so I'm gonna put a "Call for help" out to you guys...

Tomorrow is Guerin's birthday so Erin asked if she can go to the game with me on Thursday (that's their first one back) and she wants to make signs FOR his bday....any thoughts on ideas for what they should say?

I've come up with the "Happy BDay Billy, you're not getting older, you're getting better" and I've been saying I want to make one that says "13+87=100....100% Chance of Scoring, 100% Chance of Winning" but I want something REALLY good (in other words , funny that will make him laugh)...so....Help?

Oh - the horns you mean...are they like the big long ones that the fans blow in? I think there's a photo of Guerin blowing one at the parade last year - like those (they sound like sick whales). There were a lot of people with those at the game ...haha, Erin wouldn't let me get one because she said I'd make her drive home and blow it out the window if I did . She's right. I would have!!

No, we don't see any of them. I think rarely you might catch an AHL game? And the closest one is probably in Cleveland, the Lake Erie Monsters....but ECHL, ha, no way. You're not kidding tho, it is hilarious. And you can act like a total goofball and no one seems to care. The price is right, that's for sure. We paid $14/ticket and were like 4 rows from the ice. OMG< we were next to the other teams bench too and by the 3rd period? The SMELL that was coming from over the glass was soooooo bad, LOL. Hockey Funk!!!

that happens when you go to the minors but sometimes because they do some stupid stuff its hilarious. lol

i use to go to the chicago wolves games but that dang horn those fans blare got on my final nerved last time i went but since my cable company televises all their games i can now watch chelios in hd lol but still hear that stupid horn ={

i wished they would do the same for our rockford team since they are the actuale ahl team for the blackhawks.Do the televiseyour minor team on cable there?

Yeah, they won in OT. The best / funniest part is after the game - they gave out team posters. So they had all the team in a room and you could get their autographs. OMG, can you imagine if the Pens did such a thing? Obviously they couldn't, but that was fun. Even if I don't really know ANY of them (I recognized two player names, that's it)

Good morning all! I hope you're all doing well (and bah on that road trip...let's hope they turn it around in Boston on Tuesday!) I missed the first 2 periods and I'm kinda glad I did now since they didn't do so well. Darned injury bug!!! We went to Wheeling for the Nailers ECHL game, they're always fun and I went with Erin which always makes it fun since she's so funny & crazy (Remember, Erin=Attack Guerin Girl, LOL)

I'm so happy to see Geno back on the ice, even if it is with a red jersey. Hopefully he'll be able to make it back for the Pens home games next week!!
