Heatley is a asshole, and I wouldn't piss in his face if his eye brow's were on fire. Break a leg asshole and go kill another team mate.

I think his personal issues according to the citizen could have been team members he didn't see eye to eye with because he wanted to be (the man) of the team. When he got a coach who wouldn't let him dictate how he wanted the team to look and play he wanted out. Have a feeling he was the problem in the locker room last year that got every body in a slump with his attitude. No body will own up to it but read between the lines in the Citizen article today.

I used to be a Heatley fan, but shit, I totally lost it for the guy.  I can't believe he'd do his own team like that, a team that took him in after everything he'd been through.  We didn't judge in Ottawa, now look how he repays us?  What the hell!?...I think he is whining himself straight out of the NHL and out of a career.

The guy screwed his team into a shit deal, if he was unhappy with his "diminished role" he should of played better. The guys a selfish prick and should feel lucky he's not in jail...Some of these guys are such over payed princesses. I hope in the next few years the teams that are stuggling have to fold and leaves a huge number of players with out jobs and scrambling. I bet you wouldn't see as many guys acting like spoiled 16 yr old girls throwing tantrums.....Just my opinion.

Well Hell ..... I'm glad that's over with. I don't care what we got back in the trade ..... he did nothing for us in the three playoffs he had here in Ottawa anyway.

He wont last long there either.. Wont take long till he's tired of living under Joe Thortons shadow. He'll whine and cry for another trade. I dont think he'll be able to replace Marlou.

Btw, a Sabres fan should not be trying to brag about their team.  No one wants to go to Buffalo its the other armpit of America - sorry to say but its true.  And if it weren't for southern Ontario fans up until the early 2000s than Buffalo would not have an NHL team.  Not to mention the GM and coach staff has just gotten rid of all their best players for nothing.  So before you go running your mouth, I'd look at your own team first.

I wouldn't say they have gotten rid of all their best players.  Drury and Briere yes, who else?  Campbell?  Nobody in Buffalo wants him on that ludicrous contract.  But we have kept Vanek, Miller, Pominville, Roy, Connolly and Gaustad.  All of whom could have left via UFA or an offer sheet via RFA, yet they chose to stay in Buffalo.  And the Sabres also matched an insane offer sheet to keep their best goal scorer, Vanek, in town.  Not really what I would consider letting all their best players leave...

The olympics and the world teams of Canada put Heatley on an ego trip by telling him constantly how good he was and their number one scorer. He rode that ride for a few years and got by with it in Ottawa until Corey came along and he could not dictate his wants and needs and get by with it. He was no longer the King of the hill so he wants out so he can get the status back. If it wasn't for his team mates who made him look good he would never have gotten there. Hockey is a team sport and he has forgotten that it takes a lot of guys to make a team # 1 not just scoring from one player.
