Now that Ottawa has signed Alex Kovalev up for the next two years, maybe that will help Dany Heatly make a decision. I just can't see him coming back to this city after all this. He'll probably need to disguise himself to get in to Spezza's wedding.

If Dany Heatley had been living in a trailerpark working at Walmart in Georgia he would most likely gotten 10 years in prison.... The Snyder Family saved him from that..  He  should have reflected on what has happened in his life and be greatful to be able to play on a second line.   Murray should sit Heatley for next season much the same as Bobby Clark did to Lindros in 2000 - Lindros pulled the same stunt -demanded a trade publicly but in the end he started mumbling the song .... "You cant always get what you want" - The stones should sing at an NHLPA convention

"I find it interesting that Heatley hasn't uttered a WORD about this whole trade controversy"
Yes ... and the longer he waits, the more difficult it becomes. I think he's received bad advice from the outset on how to handle this. (Not that we want him back here in Ottawa, but we may have to have him back at training camp if nothing happens. Can you imagine? What drama.) Ottawa's playing a pre-season game in Regina on Sept. 21 .... will Dany be in the lineup? Lol

Heatley will definitely be at the wedding.  They are pretty close friends.  I bet half the media already knows when the function is taking place ... everyone knows the location.  I imagine some media may still show up, but there will likely be enough security to keep them out.  I think to a sense the Ottawa media has a little more respect for something like that ... suprisingly haah.

I wonder if Dany will have the intestinal fortitude to show up in Ottawa for Jason Spezza's wedding. Of course, being a private function, I guess it would be pretty easy for him to avoid any contact with the press or fans.

Dany be true to you friends and make a decision to leave and give them the peace they need before training camp. I don't think you handled this very well but why are you punishing your friends so badly. They aren't banishing you or back stabbing you so give them some peace and decide what the heck you want and do it.

Oh Dany boy, the oil, the oil are calling
From rink to Mall, and down the mountain side
The winter's gone, and all the fans are crying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and we must bide.
But never come back when autumn's in the meadow
Or when the pond is hushed and white with snow
'Tis we'll be here in first place or in last
Oh Dany boy, oh Dany boy, we hate you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And you are dead to us, as dead as you may be
You'll come and find the place where Sens are playing
And kneel and say an "Oiler" there for me.

And we shall hear, tho' cruel you tread above us
And all our Cup dreams are cold and sour-y
If you'll not fail to tell us that you hate us
We'll simply sleep in peace when you leave and let us be.

We'll simply sleep in peace when you leave and let us be.

If Heatley is a true player to the game he should go to Edmonton, and fly under the wing of Pat Quinn. With Hemmer, Heatley will be sure to showcase his talent, and receive respect for it, form coach, players, and fans.  Bottom line if you like the game it shouldn't matter where you play.  He will be a god when he comes to Edmonton, and hopefully all the Nylanders, and other shitheads who didn't like Edmonton will see how great Edmonton is FOR YOUR CAREER! not your lifestyle.

Sad pathetic, greedy. Edmonton folks do not deserve this mismanagement from the Oiler Organization. They trade Ryan Smyth who would have been happy to sit on the bench for Team Canada only to be selfless and wait to play. Kevin Lowe is mostly responsible for all the Oiler mishaps New owner  does not have a clue this is clear He needs to hire smarter Brains top down.

Im pretty sure this person has no idea what they are talking about. Ryan Smyth got traded because he wanted 6.5 million and the Oilers had no cap space and he wouldnt go lower. YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING!

HEATLEY'S A DOUCHBAG! I'm an Oilers fan, and now we don't want him anymore. He's disrespectful! When you ask for a trade, you don't get to pick the team you get traded to. Bryan Murray wants whats best for the SENATORS not whats best for HEATLEY! You can't have your cake and eat it too. The Oilers should send the Penner, Cogliano and Smid package to the Lightning to get Lecalvier!

I hope the b*stard never shows his face in this city again - if he does, I have a rock with his name on it. Heads up, Dany!

Dany should take that $4 million dollar bonus and refund every fan who purchased a Sens jersey with his name on it - because now those jerseys are nothing but decorative toilet paper...

Huh .... this guy obviously isn't a team player ..... I'm disappointed that Team Canada invited him to the Olympic orientation camp in August. Blah.

Come on... Edmonton gets a bad rap.  Have any of you dudes ever been to Buffalo?  It's like the armpit of North America.

Other than have a great hockey organization, Detroit's not exactly Nirvana either.

He would've been traded for Horcoff, Cogliano, & Smid
