$8 Million a year not to hit, not even to move his feet.  He's a 5 year $1.5M defenseman who got lucky.  He totally sucks.  Ditto Seabrooke.  $16 Million pile of shit in the slot screening Crawford.  Get hurt.  Get lost.
Damn. With him, Kane, and this other dude (forgot his name) they seem so unstoppable. Buuuut, hey, every one has their own weakness :)

cheering for fights, hits
 as loud as they cheer for goals 
the sound,  addictive and alluring.

and glory is what is most beloved to our audience.
we feel justified in our judgment with a notion that they belong to us as our possessions. 


when he was traded, he left for love,
they  said he was stolen, by a temptress no doubt, a roman love story written by an author filled with opinion and a perspective of verdict ruling on the side of glory.

 
A hockey player is not a gladiator because of who he is, he is a gladiator because that is what we make him. 
He may not be a slave, or a captured prisoner of war, like the gladiators of old, he is a possession to us, the spectators.

He just signed a multi year deal with the Hawks.  They will never trade Keith he's one of our best players.

 He is the best defenseman tha Hawks have and worth  even more than he is getting paid.  Duncan is quick, smart with the boards and a smart player.  No way should he be traded.
